80/20 (owner/player).

Bringing the higher quality players won’t attract people to watch the game, they already have the best players in the world. more money isn’t the issue, the product is. I might be the only person here who’s ever watched a whole wnba game outside the finals lmao. There’s a real chance I’m the only one here who’s ever given the wnba money lmao. I don’t hate the game but i understand it’s limitations. Throwing more money around doesn’t just fix it, it’s not like the European/Russian game brings in huge viewership it’s largely for the entertainment of the oligarchs. Almost every wnba team has lost money year over year, it’s not feasible for them to pay more unless the nba gives them a huge influx of money and the nba knows it’s a bad investment. They need to find another way to brand or sell the wnba outside just making it a bootleg subsidiary of the nba.
