weeknd stans can’t go a page without bringing up drake, ur favourite just hit 15 billion streams and u got drizzy on ur mind
When Drake makes achievements we only have MJ, Eminem or the Beatles to compare. Anyone else like Weeknd or other 2010's artists makes a milestone Drake is the only comparison. It's highkey a huge complement to him lol
Im pretty sure Views is 8x platinum but if you mean streaming only then yeah
That’s US, we talking globally. Weeknd is a bigger artist than Drake worldwide
one day there will be a documentary on how Toronto produced 3 generational mega-stars all around a similar time frame
Drake, Weeknd and ?
Biebs isn’t from Toronto at all, Mendes is even closer than him

biebs got famous for constantly busking in toronto, its how he went viral in the late 2000's
i knew he grew up OT but he was in and out of toronto during that stage when he was blowing up
but if he wanna be technical then ya he isnt from toronto, but F*** IT

I was dating a Weeknd stan when this album came out, even though I'm not a fan this album's hits are nostalgic as hell

I hate myself from doing the math for you but Starboy total sales worldwide is 6,451,000 and Views total is 9,727,000. If we're talking globally as on the entire planet then Drake's album had still sold more than Abel's but if you think Starboy's 7,500 copies in Portugal or 3,500 more sales in Iceland makes a difference I have to tell you it ultimately doesn't
Good day champ

You just made those numbers up
If Views is 8x platinum in the US, how has it only sold 1 million more outside of this country? That hurts your argument if it’s even true

Every time OP brings up math I think we know the argument is pointless by now. It takes 2 minutes to Google all the riaa sales and add them up to know if what he says is true or not. And whenever it's slanted against Drake you can bet his math is off lol

Those numbers you cited are not sourced, and if they are accurate, it makes your point look even worse about Views being bigger globally. S*** only sold 1M outside the US
Is drake even in competition with the weeknd anymore at this point?
No competition, Drake is still bigger in the US. Drake would outsell him if they dropped an album on the same day.
KTT never cared about worldwide stats so I don't see why they should care now (quite convenient timing however)

Nah, I think Hurry Up Tomorrow will outsell Drake’s next project
great album
i want everyone to know i was stanning "die for you" before the tiktok resurgence and ariana remix (also insane how it trended years after)

The bait is real.
overhated album

His major albums sold well due to bundles. No bundles on Dawn and it only sold 148K first week. HUT will sell way more than that but it won't reach 400K which Drake will do

Drake’s next project is not clearing 400K. His ceiling for his next one is 325K.
His studio albums have slowly but consistently trended downward in first week sales with every album since Views:
Scorpion: 732K
CLB: 603K
Honestly, Nevermind: 204K (dance album)
For All the Dogs: 402K
His next one should sell somewhere between 300K and 325K first week.
And that’s not true about Weeknd. The only album of his that benefitted from bundles was After Hours.
BBTM did 412K and Starboy did 366K both without bundles, and MDM did 169K as well.

You forgot that the Weeknd albums you mentioned were pre-streaming era. First week sales are very different now
