I wouldn’t word it like that, this game seems extremely ambitious and is doing a lot. No Mans Sky has a lot of planet sure but they are procedurally generated planets which is why they can do things like that. I’m pretty sure that this game has a lot of main planets that are hand crafted and the rest are generated and optional, similar to no mans sky.

Yes they have been working on this for 10 years but that 10 years probably isn’t because they were busy creating 1000+ planets, game looks like it has quite a lot of systems and I imagine it would be more ideal to spend resources on creating those systems rather than just creating more planets

It has 1,000 planets only because they obviously wanted a game with a much smaller scope

The detail and content of each planet will be what’s ambitious, instead of the sheer number like the 10,000,000,000,000,000 planets of NMS

Gunplay is actual trash but luckily that’s not the main draw to the game it’s the world building

yeah don't get me wrong I'm excited for it but jesus that trailer looked like fallout in space. Not a bad thing, they just need to actually not have a s***show at launch

Was skeptical since they took so long to show gameplay but this is like the first time in a while I’m actually interested in a Western RPG. Hopefully it launches in a good state
