maxxingthat’s up for debate but I personally think high 80s wouldn’t see this kind of reaction for games like horizon, ghost, etc.
It feels like people are being needlessly over-critical so I’d agree with Kroniic although I’m not sure if that’s a console war thing or a Bethesda thing but Microsoft owns Bethesda now so the lines are gonna get blurrier between the two
No game in high 80s should get flak but unfortunately that's now how s*** rolls on the internet. People were jerkin this game like crazy after the MS acquisition in both directions. Sony as a publisher has been putting out a ton of high 80s/90s games for years but more importantly, they are already the top dog. Think back to 360/PS3 era were roles were reversed. It took Sony releasing multiple 90+ titles to reclaim their position.

A game can have a great score (88 is a fantastic f***ing score) and also be viewed as a disappointment score wise. If Zelda scored an 88 yall would be talking crazy too, cmon now

Right but you have to understand that those games are then reviewed according to those things. So sea of stars getting an 88 is not being reviewed as harshly as when starfield gets an 88 becuase they’re expecting waaay more from it
Well, yeah. There’s more pedigree, more money, more resources, greater ambition (that they themselves established to hype their title up).
