so yeah i just don’t think i like this game that much. not enough to finish it at least.
imo this is worse than Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3, New Vegas, and 4 by a wide margin.
main quest is one of the most boring and pointless f***ing main quests i’ve ever seen in my gaming experience lmfao
can’t do it anymore bro
I'm still playing for the missions but yeah the feeling of immersion just isn't there
definitely my least favorite Bethesda as well
Needs a more brutal survival aspect, no procedurally generated anything, ability to actually fly into orbit etc.
fam i swear i put well over 100 hours each into ESPECIALLY Oblivion, Skyrim, and Fallout 3 & New Vegas, and none of the gameplay felt like a chore which Starfield gets pretty close to lol.
i’m glad there’s a lot of people enjoying the game and having their needs met, but i expect a bit more out of a Bethesda RPG. Starfield just doesn’t feel immersive or fun at all to me. It took over 40 hours to really convince me that this game was underwhelming, but i’m sure of it now. i kept playing expecting it to hook me at some point but just never did.
I guess I’m just sorry you feel that way, genuinely. Hopefully they add some content that you like in the expansions, it feels like this game has a lot of potential for some wacky and wild expansions like point lookout or shivering isles.
Also, the mod community for this game may breathe life into it again next year when the tools come out.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the mod tools come out sooner rather than later lol

Damn that sucks , this is one of my favorite main stories by far but I’m hoping you got some good from it
I’m tired of seeing all the s*** about how cyberpunk is now the greatest game ever made and Starfield is ass
Let’s give Starfield 2 years and see where it’s at cause that’s how long it took cyberpunk
I swear the Starfield haters are cringy as f***. It’s like you can’t just critique the game, Hating it has to be your whole personality. Saw a video the other day about how BG3 is better but it won’t get the recognition because “people don’t have a high enough IQ to appreciate it”
I haven't played this game since getting a new job tbh
I'm too exhausted to use this fast travel system after work
like fr why did every Crimson Fleet Mission be like this:
fly to The Key
dock The Key
talk
fly to the quest destination
land on the planet
do the fun part of the quest
fly to the key
dock the Key
talk
fast travel to the UC ship
dock on the UC ship
talk
undock from the UC ship
repeat 10 times
haven’t felt like playing this in weeks lol
was nowhere near done with it either
Came. Went. Like I said lol when that crybaby nigga wanted to get sassy like I said it sucked lol
It would’ve been cool if they made space to where you can fly to different planets like how you walk to different towns in Skyrim and Fallout, I know it might seem super unrealistic since space is supposed to be huge and it would take days in real life to fly from planet to planet in the game, but man would it change a lot. To me, a lot of the joy in games like Skyrim and Fallout were found in walking to the different towns and missions and that’s where you see what the world really had to offer. I thought I would spend more time in actual space but it’s so barren you really can’t do that.
Game is to BG3 what Horizon was to Zelda. Came out right next to it and immediately felt mega dated
Playing Ratchet: A Crack in time rn, why this space traversal system just like Starfields
CLASSIC game tbh

This games runtime could be cut in half with emails and a phone call lmao
I think Baldurs gate spoiled me. I can't believe I bought this game and haven't even come close to finishing. Like it's fun but so much unnecessary leg work.
Every mechanic for this game feels 20 years dated and I just don't think the novelty is good enough to keep me in it.
Guarantee Todd is wondering if he can roll the dice with this bullshit again for elder scrolls 6 and Im not going to be shocked when it sucks ass
this game makes me sad :( i still have fun playing it but it really is a let down for me
ambitious is great word for it. and its the ambition that hurts it.
settlements shoulda died with FO4 and it will remain my belief that it is a system that has no place in these games. some people may enjoy them yes, but for the amount of people i’d wager that don’t, it’s a complete waste of dev team resources and time. it feels ESPECIALLY pointless in this game with just how awesome the ship building is and how you essentially live in your ship. this is probably the only thing i’ll ever hold on. it literally the dumbest game mechanic that to this day blows my mind the people at BGS feel so gungho about it. SHOW me the stats of players that use this system to the overall player count. i would be FLOORED if it was over like 10%
re ambition, game shoulda stuck with only a handful of planets and figured out a way to flesh them out completely. the idea that i go to a planet and only am compelled to interact with a singular town on it is just mind numbingly silly to me and strips a lot of what made past BGS games great.
i don’t really have much to say different than what Mr Matty had to say tbh. his review was pretty spot on.
lockpicking in this game is MASSIVELY annoying AND feels the least rewarding it has ever felt when you add the complexity matched with lackluster loot.
good chunk of unique items being purchasable stinks and takes out an element of wanting to explore. fact you can even just completely miss certain weapons and not be able to get them until another play through also super silly and not sure it’s ever worked like that previously.
economy kinda stinks yea, never have f***ing digipicks and can only buy like 3 at a time.
combat pretty great to me tho, albeit i never had issues with previous BGS combat so.
ship fights and flying in general is probably that only thing that has GROWN on me. really enjoyable to me now.
also man i’m sorry. they gassed the ever living F*** out of companions for there only to be FOUR TRUE COMPANIONS. ARE YOU F***ING KIDDING ME? this s*** pisses me off to no end because they very specifically GASSED this and conflated it with the dumb ass “ship crew” which may be one of THE dumbest things ever because the crew can’t even fire the f***ing weapons!
Playing Ratchet: A Crack in time rn, why this space traversal system just like Starfields
Damn I just got ps extra ot whatever it was and downloaded Ratchet for free but couldn't get into it cause I never played the old games and felt so disconnected. You think it's worth giving a chance with a full playthrough?
deleted it off my xbox to make room for the mwIII beta, todd really failed me I don’t think i’ve ever uninstalled a bethesda game this quickly
this came and went so fast
eh it’s gonna live a long life full of mods and expansions for years to come, game will get better over time hopefully

I'm honestly not too big on Ratchet & Clank either and still really enjoyed Rift Apart before playing the older games (minus 2016 game, didnt really like that one). Going Commando, Up Your Arsenal, & Crack in Time were the older fun ones, but they aren't required to enjoy Rift Apart imo
But if you do want do want to play in direct order to not feel disconnected, Tools of Destruction > A Crack in Time > Into the Nexus is the order of the story right before Rift Apart
