the whole "you're just getting paid to sit on your ass while the rest of us are working for nothing extra" mentality...I do think "essential workers" should be getting extra pay of some sort but like I had staffing agencies and employers telling me in April to just sit home and collect unemployment bc they didn't know when they'd be hiring again everything was up in the air...could I have probably still found something? sure...but I had lost my job of almost 10 yrs and am STILL owed a lil over a grand from my former employer that I'll prly never get (going to take him to small claims court so we'll see how that goes)...excuse me for being burned the f*** out and taking an opportunity to have a break for a few months

Ive been working full time and haven’t changed work hours but the risk of still going to work, no hazard pay and losing 10k+ in overtime is ridiculous. And then getting thrown $600 is a joke.

Why not? Do we not pay taxes as well? I’ve been fortunate to be able to work from home and maintain a steady stream of income, but tons of people I know who were furloughed or were placed on unemployment were bringing home way more than their normal wages for an extended period of time earlier in the year.
