Compare going and getting a shot to something like effective gun control or curtailing racism or handling climate change or preserving water resorces.

It's the assumption that people who don't want this shot are "arrogant" that warrants discussion, not the action of getting the shot itself. In the same way I could say gun control doesn't warrant discussion because "just control the guns"

In America at least its simple in practice to go get a shot vs the enormously difficult practical ramifications of something like gun control.

So if we're having SUCH difficulty aligning motivations over something that for an individual might take an hour vs something that as a country would take years how could we ever even hope to make progress on the latter?

I live in Paris rn, 15 minutes to get vaxxed, no appointment necessary. But you have to understand people prefer risking getting covid to getting injected with something unlike any other vaccine before.

The idea of anti-vax (of not just covid) is detrimental to everyone. You postpone the pandemic by the increased risk of resistant mutation. Not to mention the developing countries that get eternally f***ed when you bring over new strains.

And even if that wasn't the case 90% of the time a virus will mutate to become weaker which is why the Delta variant is less severe but more infectious. A virus cant survive if it kills all the hosts

Not to mention that 50% of Americans have been vaccinated so far
