That s*** is so annoying and pretentious. Then have the gall to try and double down on it when you’re wrong. It’s not hard to learn these things at all if you really want to know them.
There is not an Algorithm to music that some claim. That dosent even make sense. Just because some songs will obviously take a formula from others and use them does not make it predictable. “The production is bad, the mixing sucks” just shut the f*** up. That’s not gonna change anyone’s opinion of the song especially if they don’t even know what the f*** you’re talking about. Explain what you mean and don’t just throw out terms you don’t know
You sound like you don't know what you're talking about, yet you're telling others to stop talking about what they don't know about
Can't take u seriously after @FREE got u outta here bro
Dont hit the same no more
Thats corny
no
You sound like you don't know what you're talking about, yet you're telling others to stop talking about what they don't know about
What did I misconstrue lu?
casuals should be banned from music discussions
Yes!! Only the ELITE music-listeners should be able to partake in music discussions! Totally!!!
You sound like you don't know what you're talking about, yet you're telling others to stop talking about what they don't know about
jus a lil blood in his eyes i think I think the best thing to take from his paragraph is the "explain what you mean and don't just throw out terms you don't know" part.
a lot of posts in the music sxn are simple variations of "this sucks" or "this sucks more than this", but sometimes there are buzzwords thrown in to make the "this sucks" argument seem more intelligent. those buzzwords being some of the things that cookies sez, like "mixing" and "production". those are categories of things, and to just say "the mix is bad" isn't a great piece of information to offer to a discussion. it can be a starting point. however, i think there's a tendency w/ social media for those simple bite-sized statements to seldom go further than their starting points because just saying "the mix is bad" is much easier for ppl to agree with than explaining why one thinks the mix is bad. the more specific you get with your claim, the fewer people will be able to immediately relate to it; they'll have to put in their own individual effort to understand and then respond accordingly. the likes system also kinda incentivizes this inclination towards simplicity.
i think cookies is frustrated w/ the fact that many people would rather not put in that individual effort on either side. many of his threads seem to have an ethos of "discuss more, say cliched criticisms less", cus most people will just leave arguments at the "this sucks" point, which, as i said earlier, is more of a starting point than an ending one.
why he takes the somewhat-angry tone in approaching these things tho, i dunno it certainly invites some of the meme behavior that is obvious in the 1st page responses (which is kinda an example of what i was talking about earlier), but then again, paragraphs in general will occasionally invite dismissive meme responses rock n a hard place scenario
i think people that post like that posts are meant for the people that also know what they mean
"that s*** is pretentious"
a pretentious thread by a pretentious person calling other people pretentious. love it.
pretty much this
Mixing is important to music are you f***ing stupid? Cookies back at it again with the s*** posts as usual
