How does being called “poc” instead of “black” affect anyone lol you’re sounding like transgender people who get offended over someone using the wrong pronouns

there’s real s*** going on in the world that you should care about instead of being labeled as an incorrect word

    Now you're being randomly transphobic

Why is your white ass even here?

Telling people having a conversation over wanting to be heard on their own as a minority group there is "real s***" going on is tone deaf and it's stupid as hell considering there's this thing called multitasking.

If you don't care fine, move along.

My guy the phrase colored has real history with black in this country.

And again we aren't a monolith we all got our own history and cultures I shouldn't be thrown in a box with Indians cause we both Brown.

Especially when people have no problem enjoying my culture enough to know its different theirs and they want it.

This isn't trans pronouns because we aren't being called something after a transformation.

We're asking to be called what we are it's like telling a Chinese person "why are you mad I called you Japanese you're all POC lol"

It's rude and you wouldn't do it because they have fought for that similary we ask the same.

If people can tell the difference between rock and Hip Hop and stick by it then human beings who made it should get the same respect.

A solidarity that is used as a distraction and doesn't always merit Black people any benefits when used to express problems with them, which is where it is increasingly used.

No, this separatist way of thinking isn’t the way forward. As long as our oppressor is the same, we have to group together while respecting and celebrating our differences

She shouldn't expect Black media outlets to report about "POC" things.

The story was about her not wanting to perform for majority white crowds as a black artist. That's a black issue, of course they will report it. They don't need to report about "POC" book clubs.

I mean it’s a black artist doing something positive for the black community, but yeah f*** it cause the Mexicans can post a book there too lol

All of Lena Waithe's projects to this point are on black experience in America.

Yet she refers to them as projects for diverse people of color.

Separatist lmao, and what has being lumped with random people given Black people really? News flash, nbpoc display anti Blackness all the time, so looking out for my community rather than sitting with everyone else waiting to be heard is fine with me.

No no no, she's doing something for People of Color, not the black community.

The trickle down, "well it includes black people" is apart of our current economic and social issues.

Point is I don’t give a F*** about them other people being oppressed cause that ain’t got s*** to do with my interpersonal situations or own oppression

Never said black people were the only people who are oppressed, I said the levels of oppression other “poc” experience are unfathomably tame compared to ours

If you want to make it a competition we are sadly the Lebron James of being f***ed over. So yeah, sir, it’s definitely a reason to separate this s***. I’m not trying to hear nothing from any other minority group about what they have experienced cuz I know off rip it’s not even remotely comparable

lol wait till they find out which minority group benefits the most from affirmative action (spoiler alert: it's not black people)

The same for these other trickle down "minority policies"

There is good reason black americans are calling for a BLACK agenda. And this POC s*** is a way to try and silence that.

POC is the black community bro. It’s not a trickle down effect when a black artist creates a group that’s centered around helping minorities, especially when most of their work is still focused on the black community.

She’s very much directly supporting the black community. Helping others doesn’t take away from that in this case.

Castro helping the black panthers, the Algerians fighting with the Senegalese against the French and the Caribbeans fighting with the Algerians against the French, the Zapatista working with indigenous groups across the America and so on. That’s the benefit

Again, what is this doing for Black people, not what has it done in the past, this also doesn't erase the anti Blackness that exist amongst nbpoc and slaving of Black people by those who weren't white in the past if we're digging through the dust.

No it's not, the black community is the black community.

You... Basically doing what I stated was the problem in the OP It is trickle down effect lol, do you also believe Obama didn't create trickle down policies that really didn't help the black community (in fact he hurt black wealth even more and it was already s***)

Black media outlets don't have to report POC dealings. Black outlets report black dealing with specificity to black people, not POC. She could've called out other racial minority outlets for not reporting about her bookclub (they didn't; I've been following her book club), she did not. When it's time to be critical nobody has an issue fixing their fingers to tell the black community they need to do something. All the positive s*** is a bunch of "POC".

I’m saying these networks of solidarity exist, but maybe they don’t in the states, cause Americans of all colors think the world revolves around them ever since the Vietnam war
