it’s so boring the album trundles along with no pulse at all and stormzy isn’t a compelling singer there’s emotion sure but it’s such bad singing i’m wondering just hire someone else to do some of these hooks or verses. firebabe such a snooze fest
How many singing tracks are we talking here? I wanna hear some bars

I hate when niggas make mature albums
@mods pin
It’s pretty intimate. Not really the type of music I’d check Stormzy for but maybe it’ll grow
Is this a Stormzy album or an Adele album? Few songs I like bout 5 songs are piano, background vocals/choir and Stormzy singing or rapping. Just too similar. Will listen again but first listen iffy
i told you
I get what he was going for but this s*** is soooo samey
Same piano ballads and hushed vocals for like more than half the album. You can still make these kind of albums work, but hey, points for trying I guess

True but I like when artists switch it up like this

Gang Signs & Prayers had ballads too

Definitely, as did Heavy Is The Head. But I think this one leans into that direction even more strongly than the others did

even with all the issues dave sometimes has with his music he at least can make those serious songs way more compelling like both sides of a smile doesn’t feel like 8 minutes but the intro to stormzy album feels like 8 years.
dave also pads out his albums with a few party anthems which links well with the theme of the album. i admire stormzy for doing an album with a consistent theme and sound in this kind of direction but it doesn’t help if the music isn’t that compslling
