It feels that way with this particular song. This would’ve went #1 regardless without it. It just feels forced a lil bit. That street s*** corny to most folks who aren’t Drake stans now. And this song is clearly not for his fans it’s for everybody.

It’s one thing to have constructive criticism. It’s another to b**** and moan about a song that you don’t like. Is it a NFW instant classic smash hit? IMF level hook? Or even a feel good Gods Plan? Nah. But it’s definitely better than some of his weakest singles like I’m Upset. We don’t even know if this s*** will be on the album. I think When to Say When, Chicago Freestyle, War, Omertà, and Gold Roses are more indicative of where the album is going creatively. I also think his family situation will drive most of the content of the next album so let’s just all chill out, hit that Toosie one time, and let these young niggas (and their family’s) vibe on Tik Tok. There are honestly worse things to get bent out of shape about.

One thing that Drake and his team understands is that history doesn’t remember criticism from twitter and blog writers.

No one mentions the criticisms that came with a new MJ or prince release.

When you talk about hotline bling or IMF 15 years from now the docs and Netflix specials will only remember how massively dominant they were. The people love it, and the casual listener and the causal fans are the gatekeepers of history and while drake still cares for the hip hop crowd, he plays to that side as well
