Question is: will the discourse around this movie on itt be even more insufferable after tonight or will it actually be well received

  • we still getting the fortnite skin

  • That was posted before seeing page 109

    It’s so f***ing over

Damn, DC can’t escape the rotten tomato

    https://twitter.com/discussingfilm/status/2069817406441283928

    It comes eventually

Based on the trailers, this is about where I predicted the score to be. It looks like a very okayish movie, not awful but not great either

Unfortunately will get worse cus its set up to be mauled in box office

  • Still excited to see it. But i do wish it debuted at at least an 80%, so the weird side of the internet didn't have the RT score to use as ammo to bully Milly more

“James Gunn said he wasn’t going into production on any movie until the script was rock-solid. For that was the overriding problem with the superhero overkill era: the films had lousy scripts, which served as grids for layering visual effects.

Gunn was right to want to take the comic-book genre back to the basics of well-structured screenwriting. So what has he done in his second DC outing? He’s given us a comic-book movie with the worst script I can remember.”

Was the vibe I had been getting from the trailer as far as generic damn :/

So funny to me Gunn gets all the blame but not Craig.

    I’m just pointing out

James making a big deal about not green lighting movies until the script is in a great place then seeing that the issue with this movie seems to be the script is something

I said something about this itt a few days ago

I genuinely believed him when he said that and I want them to succeed so this is very concerning

Same way Feige & Co. get all the blame for terrible Marvel movies rather than the directors of said movies catching heat

That was all marketing, I never believed that s*** for a second

    S***s dumb

  • PAINMAN

Incredible Hulk followed Iron Man and that was a stinker

don’t break faith just yet at least this isn’t a Suicide Squad or Batman v Superman

These comparisons just aren’t useful anymore. Building a superhero universe post super hero movie decline, post-endgame, post Disney plus, post Covid. I just legit think any movies beyond the main popular characters aren’t gonna do well. And the movies of the main popular characters have to be very good.

How are you guys this shocked that this movie got bad?

The trailer showed it right away. Comic Book movies are finished unless there is something original about them without dumb, stupid jokes, terrible plots and terrible villains

the directors and actresses of MCU movies DO get heat when they're a minority, a woman, or openly left leaning. If their movies get bad reviews then they get attacked more than Faige
