Jul 17, 2025Superman is so goofy and I love it. Lex has the best scenes in the movie. Pa and Ma were cute. Movie is not perfect but Gunn gets Superman. And that’s all I want for now. Makes me angrier at Snyder for Man of Steel

LOL, looked like the costume designer just ran to TJ Maxx, cleared out a rack of $15 shirts, and told the extras to throw them on.

Went with my friends to see this, and by the time we got done they were hating on it
I thought it had some good stuff like every time guy gardner and mr terrific were on screen, pa Kent’s convo with Superman, and lex hamming it up, but very little to enjoy outside of that. The dialogue was excruciating to sit through, and I really couldn’t buy the sincere tone when it was constantly getting undercut by over the top silliness. Felt like an attempt at capturing the energy of Sam Raimis Spider-Man movies, but this didn’t measure up unfortunately. I also was bored of Superman getting his ass handed to him for the majority of the movie despite having 3 years of experience, and I was more annoyed with krypto as the movie went on
What’s most fascinating about this movie to me is that it felt like a cultural snapshot of the 2020s, what with the f***boy jimmy olsen and his influencer girlfriend, Israel-Palestine/Russia-Ukraine a***ogue, and billionaire sowing dissent through social media. It’s very much representative of the era we live in which was an interesting angle to take
I do think at this point I am too irony poisoned to enjoy this movie, but I can def see why people like it. I have pretty much outgrown superhero movies in general and this is no exception. In the same breath though I would still say this movie could’ve been executed a lot better
In all honesty the characters were portrayed great and the actors did great as well
BUT I just don’t think Gunn should’ve been the guy to make a Superman movie as far as directing and writing goes story wise. He got the casting and characters spot on tho like I said

Everesti dont know the lore so this isn't my stuff, just stuff i've seen on superman tok and superman tube and superman x
but i've seen superman fans saying it'll be the opposite, that'll he'll devolve into bizzaro which is kinda what the film went for but didn't go all the way.
the ultraman name seemed like a bit of a smoke screen because ultraman in comics usually has nothing to do with cloning, but Bizzaro multiple times has been a superman clone made by lex that goes wrong and comes out dumb.
so i've seen fans say maybe wherever that blackhole takes him turns him into this
which is what bizzaro normally looks like
Once it was revealed that Ultraman was actually dumb then i automatically thought Bizzaro but we will see

Dawg when Lex started crying it was like "wow he really hates this nigga" it was beautiful.
I have a few minor gripes:
I don't like how that scene got cut short with krypto just doing the hulk/loki thing. I really wanted to stay in that moment. I did like krypto in generalI wonder if we will ever get Darkseid and how would they handle him as far as tone in regards to visual and dialogue cause when I watch him in Superman the animated series I swear it's like I'm watching the Bible.
The overall look of the movie was pretty nice most parts but some parts felt like a commercial for a prescription d***. And other parts just look mushy.

The music and rework of his og theme was tough!
Loved the dialogue especially the interview.
I liked them introducing the other characters without it feeling too bloated.
Hawkgirl was actually my 2nd when I used to play injustice. And it's part of my last name so I loved her even before the movie lol.Mr. Terrific was DAT NIGGA!
Jimmy getting hoes is hilarious. But just the world building in general was really solid.
The thick ass motocross suit grew on me. You don't even notice the stiff paneling on it when you watch the movie.
Lois and Clark actually seemed like they like eachother.I hope that if we get another Superman joint it's also more of a Superman solo and not a springboard for other movies like BvS was.
Still hoping we see parasite and live wire

I think the reason Krypto comes in right there is cause Lex probably would have had something else to say, maybe even better than what Superman said in that moment, so Krypto or something has to come in there to interrupt him otherwise Lex wins if that makes sense. Like Lex doesn't deserve to have that moment so they (Krypto) stops him
i think if they are to tell the true story of superman and even the JL, that Darkseid would have to eventually be brought on. only thing is that it might take some time to get there in order to distance themselves from the last iteration of DC movies and how Darkseid was there etc.
