Darn
He seems to understand that people were upset we didn't get a proper Superman sequel after MoS, and said that Superman is important in this next movie so I kinda have faith that it will decent but yeah I also would have preferred a solo Superman sequel with lesser characters in it besides Metropolis based characters
The scenes with his parents >>>
“I show him footage of his parents. That seems to soothe him.”
*footage with ma and pa kent
Dawg when Lex started crying it was like "wow he really hates this nigga" it was beautiful.
I have a few minor gripes:
I don't like how that scene got cut short with krypto just doing the hulk/loki thing. I really wanted to stay in that moment. I did like krypto in general
I wonder if we will ever get Darkseid and how would they handle him as far as tone in regards to visual and dialogue cause when I watch him in Superman the animated series I swear it's like I'm watching the Bible.
The overall look of the movie was pretty nice most parts but some parts felt like a commercial for a prescription d***. And other parts just look mushy.
I’d love to see Darkseid on film but the only thing I’d be worried about is if they thought that he was too similar to Thanos being that Thanos was inspired by Darkseid
Tone and aesthetic of the movie was very James Gunn and so different from previous Superman films we’ve seen.
Went in blind (no trailers, minimal marketing) so was pleasantly surprised that they didn’t go with an origin story and dove right into a fully developed world of metahumans and advanced tech.
While it may not be perfect I am excited with the direction the DC universe is going with this as the first step

Which is f***ing crazy

Same
One minor gripe is Superman never has a robot in his apartment to disguise themselves as Clark (a la hologram) when/if ever he’s gone for an indefinite amount of time. That doesn’t happen and it immediately gives away he’s Superman. Also missed opportunity for comic relief there
Thoughts?
Yeah actually would have really liked that. Woulda further lent to the comicy episodic nature of the movie
i really liked that superman was getting his ass beat pretty much the whole movie, and it was never like 'how far can he be beat before he gets angry and shows his full strength' or anything like that.
lois and supes were great together too nice to see some actual chemistry/romance in a superhero movie
Thoughts?
This woulda been fine as it really felt like a 5 episodic arc of JLU
Thoughts?
Feel like this would of really help give the audience a sense of time for all of the events. Definitely would of made the pacing less jarring and felt more like an animated series
Actually kinda pissed they didn’t do that. That woulda easily helped with any pacing issues people had as well
@NobodyWins
Where was the depth here bro

Wtf does Fortress have to do with depth lol stop dodging and say what themes are in this movie that you can contemplate on in consequent rewatches
Cavil Fortress literally added depth to the idea

Adds a lot to the Superman character. Also doing good because it’s the right thing to do. Being kind is punk rock. How is man of steel much more depth filled? He’s a stoic boring ass dude in it.
