A lot of them probably won't get significant screen time. It's just to make the world feel already lived in.
Different from the mcu where every hero/villain needs to have some background
Krypto is probably gonna have a single line of dialogue dedicated to explaining his backstory and still end up being the most beloved character in the movie.
Me to F4 after realizing I’m the only person in the thread that believes Marvel might still have the juice
https://twitter.com/videoreacts/status/1596229521178783744marvel lowkey has momentum after new avengers so it has that going for them
Supes. even if you go by both their last big trailers. Supes is outdoing the views by 10 milllon with lesser time
hyped for both tho

Superman feels like it’s building to an event film.
FF feels more akin to a standard Marvel movie, just with a more familiar source.

They really need that movie to hit Disney+ like two weeks before F4 releases
i think superman takes it on every level tbh.
box office, critical reaction, reaction with the fanbases, normie reaction and film fan reaction
Edit - July 21st: Box office is still up in the air. I may have missed on this predictions.
agree with this- FF will be seen as a cautious positive step for the MCU, while Superman will be seen as a door busting intro to a (hopefully) exciting new thing.
Think about the opening crew in The Suicide Squad. They had little to no backstory given but they still managed to be somewhat memorable and hold down the first 10-15 minutes of the movie.
I’d imagine the screen time for the other heroes in Superman would be on par, and most of the core cast don’t need much in the way of introduction, because they’re already well established.
The Suicide Squad is one of the 15 worst rated films of the thousands I have rated on Letterboxd lol f***ing hate that movie. so I can't agree that it did anything well.
My head tells me that Superman has never been a box office giant and that the Marvel machine is undefeated.
I think both have the potential to touch a billion but F4 just feels more likely to me rn
Superman imo has always had potential to be a HUGE BO success solo. Hes one of the most popular hero's in human history.
its just been what, almost 50 years since we had a critically acclaimed film for him?
really think/ hope at least this is the one
honestly for F4 too

great way to put it

watched the Superman trailers cause I need convincing to go see it
avoiding FF trailers cause i know ill go see it and am avoiding spoilers
I Think Superman wins the battle personally. But I think both movies will do good though.
Feels like there's been more chatter and discussion both positive and negative around this Superman movie than Fantastic Four.
But also F4 did just crash the AMC website for ticket sales so I might not know s*** lol.

Man I’m just completely out of step with this. With F4 being the last movie before Doomsday and Doom being their signature villain, this movie feels like something you have to see if you’re going to remain tuned into the MCU and their big event films

this actually makes a lot of sense
look up james gunns old tweets
man i thought james was really outta here during that time

If the new DCU ends up replacing the MCU then Disney firing him will go down as one of the biggest own goals in cinema history
James Gunn getting cancelled into getting the gig of the head boss for DC movies is still crazy to me.
That would have ended most other directors careers for good.

little bit of white men always failing upward but James obv proved he had amazing group dynamic down between characters, and DC was desperate as f*** for someone to take the reins
didnt even realize DC/Snyder have 4 films at the very bottom of the barrel of the thousands ive rated
love GOTG trilogy but TSS makes me very worried that Gunn without Feige is a disaster
It’s kinda wild that we actually have a legitimate Marvel vs DC box office battle in 2025. That would’ve sounded unbelievable a few years back
idk most of them looked unfamiliar to me
How familiar where you with the GoTG ?!
