if price is no concern get the OLED.
If you want to save a bit get the OG Switch.
Imo having the option for docking and portable is what makes the whole thing shine.
og personally. only because i never used oled one
OLED boyz.
Been trying to hunt one down. Damn near impossible unless I pay someone extra on top on kijiji or something.
At this point just wait for the switch 2 next year
that not dropping anytime soon
Might as well get the OLED if you never had a Switch. But if you mostly plan on playing handheld then the Switch Lite.

Next year or 2023 is a given. The switch is at the end of its lifespan. There’s only so much more devs can do with its outdated hardware

idk if nintendo will do anything, they don't care about specs and performance, so they could keep switch for even longer
next console will prob be a new thing that carries over some key features

Nintendo doesn't care about the hardware, thing is selling like hotcakes still as well
I think we 3 years off from them dropping a new console, maybe 2.5 years at best

Ehhh they will start to care once third parties switch to ps5 and xsx, cause at that point only indies, some jrpgs and some 3rd party exclusives would come to switch. Im also thinking 2023 we could get the new Switch, but if op wants to play nintendo games i dont think its useful to make them consider a potential successor that hasnt been announced yet
Damn switch og black version on sale right now for $379 cdn. Thats looking alright considering the only oled I can find is on kijiji for $550. Is the oled that much better to spend an extra $150?
lite if you're going to be only playing handheld. OLED if you want the dock and all that might as well spend a little more dough to get the nicer screen

This would be a thing if it was the Wii. But the Switch is still selling and isn't slowing down so companies are going to keep throwing half baked games on to the switch even if the game looks like a potato. My switch barely gets bump outside Pokemon. Switch is just a Indies/shovelware box anyway. Jrpgs look, sound, and run better on my Ps4. Hell I got into disgaea and even that run better on my Vita.
