I want the uk and eu to emulate this bill. I like the design and I like how it will boost employment in tech

All the bill will do is save IBM money since the subsidies aren't that conditional. IBM already announced they want to cut back on semiconductor investments because they are getting more subsidies. Ultimately all this is gonna do is pay dividends for shareholders using tax money

    1. Niggas talked for 2 hours with warnings not to go to Taiwan

    2. China sent multiple warnings after the meeting

    3. PLA celebrating their 95th anniversary

The US just wants war simple as that. Global Economy is finished.

I didn't even get a chance to move to Guinea like i wanted

One thing that fell under the rug this year also was that in the first ever meeting between the Chinese defense minister and Defense Sec Austin, Wei Fenghe said:

If anyone dares to split Taiwan from China, the Chinese army will definitely not hesitate to start a war no matter the cost,”

They view this move as breaking policy but doubt they’re here yet ^ s*** is serious tho

Made the right move flying out the country the same day I made this thread

I think the focus on CHIPS extremely narrows the scope of this and how bad tensions have gotten

Pelosi's Asia trip was intended for April before Nancy got COVID. There’s also been increased US efforts at gaining influence in East Asia and ASEAN nations since the spring. There's a whole chronology of tensions just in the last 2-4 months:

    • Biden saying in Japan the US will use military force if China acts on Taiwan (WH later walked this back)
    • Meeting between both PLA defense minister and Lloyd Austin in June where the PLA flat out said they'd go to war
    • G7 introducing "Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment," a $600B plan to compete with the multi-trillion dollar Belt and Road (this is their 2nd attempt at this)
    • NATO shifting policy after 12 years, declaring China as a security threat for the first time

That's not even everything. At the center tho has and will always be One China, which Beijing views as the basis for peaceful US-China relations. Neither recognized each other before this policy

Also CHIPS isn’t an initiative it’s 100% necessary for US to even compete with Chinas quickly growing semiconductor industry. They’ve made scary gains recently and advanced 2 generations Im chips: bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-21/china-s-top-chipmaker-makes-big-tech-advances-despite-us-curbs

If they didn’t do this, you’d have realistic chances of both China outpacing Taiwan after a few years and China becoming a potential alternative worldwide. At least now the US is trying to pump themselves up for not only be an alternative if Taiwan is compromised, but they also can have a great industry domestically (assuming they follow through)

And why does China even have this quickly developing sector….US sanctions: time.com/6189341/us-sanctions-china-chips-semiconductors

P**** ass country. Their citizens will rejoice too. Step up to the big dogs if you got a problem with something we do

  • Aug 1, 2022

I don't think China will really fully attack Taiwan at all, it will be bit by bit until they fully take it over one day. I dont think the US can do something here long term and they will have to give up Taiwan at some point. Also if the chip manufacturing goes from Taiwan to USA, say goodbye to Taiwan being independent already ....
