This is a good thing tho
That means your employer is not taking too much each paycheck
thats a good way to look at it, didnt think about it like that
$19 back fwm
Nvm the one I put in the one freelance gig I did last year and now I owe 166
Massachusetts one of 3 states trying out $600 1099-k's this year
f***
Lowest amount ive ever gotten smh
I claim 0 too
same I only got $40 altogether lol
i think i figured it out... mad confusing
pretty sure imma be audited
Feels good making enough money that I don’t get a return but at the same time I kinda miss it
I'm only getting $47 back on my Fed return, but like $1800 back for my city return
Getting $3k with the American Opportunity Tax Credit but my school f***ed up the 1098-T and refuses to change it so I had to self report half my tuition paid that they left out
Hoping I don’t get a notice or audit
What makes you say this
1099-k stuff and purposely not reporting certain items on it and instead reporting them on a schedule D. Reading turbo tax info it says to do that, but it just feels weird lol

I'm so glad I didn't have to deal with a 1099-k. did have to deal with a 1099-c and marked that I was insolvent to make the debt non-taxable which I am
I bought a Drake ticket off TickPick for roughly $700 and sold on TM for that same price and thought they were gonna hit me with one of those which would mean I'd have to prove that I didn't profit off the sale lol
I agree that it does feel weird self-reporting s*** without concrete tax-related documentation to back it up, that's the same boat I'm in

That’s the boat I’m in. Sold a concert ticket for a profit. Got paid via PayPal and the 1099-k shows the full amount I got paid. So I’m not reporting that amount on the 1099-k, and instead reporting it as short term capital gains
Feels illegal to just leave it off the 1099-k and not report the exact number they gave me on the form… but everywhere I’m reading tells me it’s the right thing to do
Imagine still getting a refund. If you getting a refund you definitely broke af. Ive had to pay back state and federal more and more every year because i keep leveling up.
If I didn’t get married and have kids, I’d owe a lot. It helps to have both.

I nearly make 100k a year and I usually get about 1k in return (state and fed).
I just prefer to have more conservative deductions so that I never have to worry about owing any taxes my work always goes crazy with the automatic tax rates on bonuses too, so that always boosts it
