I think the thing is though even at the time when she opened for Doja she had a very small fanbase, you could argue she shouldn't have been opening just based on fanbase. She was getting SZA , Kodak and JT features which most artists her size wouldn't be getting if they weren't signed to TDE. It's undoubtable she had a big push.

I think 99% of major artist's has had a big label/connection to help them, I just think the 'industry plant' label is one where the audience can see the push obviously and rejects it. People want to listen to what seems authentic - even if they know subconciously its as a result of a label. It's all about the narrative. You can't deny the Doechii narrative has been a really obvious label push and trying to find her niche (TikTok music , Azelia banks music , Now 90s Boom Bap) for the last few years.

TDE are smart, they can see women stream more music than men, so they wanted to position Doechii as the new female rap star. I think female fans don't care as much when they see a label push- Sabrina , Doja , Ice , Latto all had very clear pushes but female fans don't reject it as much as men.
