I hate when people equate violent criminals to poor people and minorities lol

    Don't do violent crime.

So you hate when people use available data to realize the fact that crime, poverty, and race can't be discussed as separate issues because it's not that simple? I feel you. It sucks when niggas read.

But you aren't talking about discouraging anything. You're talking about punishment after the fact and incarceration which has been the status quo for decades. So why are rates climbing lol

They're being let out back on the streets without punishment. The reform guarantees you get out the same night unless it's a felony. That's why it's climbing... NSFL/NSFW

Where did I say that? I’m all for less jails and more mental hospitals and UBI for everybody to help with poverty. But bail reform doesn’t work

When you said releasing them, I took that to mean just in general not specifically bail. Keeping people for years when monitoring technology exists is wild though. And you specify violent criminals, but violent criminals are some of the least likely to return to go back to prison upon release.

Many ppl in Chicago committ crimes while on electronic monitoring and you can be off of it for 48 hrs w/o punishment. It doesn’t work

So over 96% of the people out on bail due to the new changes haven't committed crimes. You wanna lock up all those people because of 4% who take advantage of being free? (even though fear makes people more aggressive and knowing the system is working against you is scary) If people weren't held in jails, that money being used to hold people could be used for social programs and effective monitoring for agreed upon "serious offenders"

When i bought my first firearm i had to fill out a form that asks for my race/ethnicity and all that
Made me super uncomfortable and I live in the most gun friendly state
Making it a little more difficult would deter many but drive them to the black market

    To discourage white people

Most people don't violate pre trial conditions. That's not different in Chicago. You're trying punish a large group of people for a small percentages' actions.

I’m sure the victims of the crimes committed by that “small group” can breathe easy(or not if they are dead) knowing their misfortune qualifies under “not that common.”

4% of people getting released just to commit murder, rape and assault is not a small number. The bill is a failure
