and that’s also assuming that hypothetical system will work equally for all groups and won’t be discriminatory based on race, location, certain “zones”

USA murder rate is up there with civil war ridden third world countries. Taking guns away in any capacity can only do good

I’m sure the victims of the crimes committed by that “small group” can breathe easy(or not if they are dead) knowing their misfortune qualifies under “not that common.”

You're saying that 100 people should be locked up to sit and wait so that 4 crimes won't be committed? At that point criminals must not even be people to you.

Most people don't violate pre trial conditions. That's not different in Chicago. You're trying punish a large group of people for a small percentages' actions.

Would you be okay if he was let out of prison?

4% of people getting released just to commit murder, rape and assault is not a small number. The bill is a failure

you can't reduce crime 100% lmao

96% of nonviolent offenders being out on bail with no recidivism is not a bad thing

Maybe we can start with not letting ppl out who have a gun as a previous felon so they can go ahead and shoot ppl? Maybe?

I love where I live, but bail reform and progressive policies were supposed to be for non violent offenders like d*** arrests, why are we letting violent ppl out with priors?

I don't wanna see anecdotal individual stories. That doesn't change the data.

Who said that? Just don't release violent criminals... it's simple lol.

Tell that to the woman who was raped in Bay Ridge that it's not a big deal because the other 96% of the offenders that got released weren't violent.
