This is a general question. How do we know when a vinyl is official vs unofficial?

sometimes a lack of a barcode, they’re usually more than $40-$50, s***ty art, vinyl color etc.

it’s easy to spot when you see them more so in person. from my experience, they’ll usually be wrapped and say “IMPORT” and “NO REFUNDS”…reason being the audio quality is probably s*** lol

if you have it on hand you can notice its not official by everything mentioned above: no barcode, no general credits on the outer sleeve or they dont look legit, vinyl sticker probably can reveal a lot

other than that id suggest checking out discogs if youre not sure

I was on this trip last month and hit up some store and they had High Voltage by AC/DC but it was the original Australian version. they only reissued it this year and it's like $100. before that they did a bunch of bootlegs in 2015 for $20. I immediately reckoned it a bootleg. bro was asking $50 for it, I suggested $30 bc its a bootleg, he no joke was about to start a fight with me never acknowledge its a boot unless the store outright admits selling those, you live you learn

I go back and forth on this, Cool & Drogas. It was always crazy that there wasn't a vinyl release for this, I'm glad Lupe circled back. I'll buy one myself for sure.
