I have Carter 5 ahead of Carter 4. Read my list again bro, lol
We can disagree on 1 and 3 though. I just think Carter 1 was more consistent from beginning to end. It's just a personal preference for me.
carter is the most important series in hip hop history. as much as i love jay, ye, and drake i don’t think it would be the most chart dominating genre without tha carter

but yea u good. we don't have to agree haha
2 - One of the best rap albums of all time need I say more
3 - One of the best rap albums of all time need I say more
1 - Southern rap classic that marked the beginning of the south’s dominance. Same class as Trap Muzik, TM101 etc
4 - Not a classic by any stretch but still pretty solid. Def has some misses but when it hits it HITS. Disappointing at the time but in hindsight it’s probably Wayne best studio album outside the classic trifecta
5 - Pretty good and worthy of returning to occasionally but not a classic. Def his most personal. I feel like it was step down skill wise tho which is disappointing because every Carter prior showcased his elite rapping ability. I feel like this Carter (and most of his output during the 2010s) was more about him trying to figure out how to adapt to the current gen and still be himself. Some of it worked some of it didn’t. Also too much autotune for my taste. I love auto tune but on Wayne’s voice in particular it can get pretty grating very quickly. His natural voice is easily one of the most iconic in rap history, up there with Big’s voice so idk why he feels the need to drown it in autotune but yeah
4 not better than 5 by any means it might just edge out FWA though.
I don’t know how I would rate all of them specifically, but 2 is my favorite.
I liked some Wayne features I had heard so I bought 2 since I heard Tha Carter series was his best work, at least his best albums, and when I pressed play and heard Tha Mobb it was over. There was no chance I would ever want to go without it again
My personal ranking is as follows:
As we all know, the original Carter 3 would've been Wayne's greatest work ever if it didn't get leaked. The retail version that came out in stores just left a lot to be desired in my opinion. Still a solid album (and a classic in hindsight) considering Wayne had to go back into the studio and make a brand new album within the time frame that he had to do it in.
That's why I always have a love/hate relationship with Tha Carter 3, because I know how much better it could've and should've been.
This is actually the best list. My only thing is I can't choose between 2 and 1 some days.
carter 3 got me into rap music
C3 got a ton of people into rap
And to be fair, Wayne wasn't as big when C1 or C2 dropped so a lot of people didn't experience those dropping that are ranking itt
4 not better than 5 by any means it might just edge out FWA though.
Raps are better
Every time it beat, it break apart
I really think it's all my daddy fault
I can't find the keys to my heart
Think I'ma need the automatic start
Out there lookin' for love after dark
Then I get tired and it's an afterthought
Where's the love? Five question marks
Eat your heart out, I had to starve
It's the saddest part
I'm questionin' myself, I ain't gotta answer yours
Baby, that's for sure
I take a look at myself and then I just pass the torch
Baby, back and forth
I ask, can we get together just to break back apart?
Baby, that's the cure
Me, myself, I, and my iPhone, Fantastic Four
Never knew "take it or leave it" could be so literal
Never knew takin' a breather could be so physical
Never knew takin' it easy could be so difficult
Never knew takin' these d**** could be so spiritual
Never knew the chemist like how I know the chemicals
Never knew takin' a life could be so minuscule
Never know takin' chances will be individual
Never know takin' advantage would be inhospitable, how pivotal
Never knew the s*** I never knew would be minimal, how cynical
Never knew love and hate were similar, identical
I can't find the keys to this life
Picked the locks, I might be a'ight
Close my eyes, I might see the light
Life is a b****, she might be my type
Death is a b****, she might be tonight
Haters kiss and d***-eaters bite
Table turn every day 'n night
Three-sixty, three-sixty-five
I can't find no leaks to my pipe
Police can't find no reason or right
Been tryna let s*** happen on the fly
But I can't find a seat on that flight
There's a private plane, that's simple and plain
Tickets at a more reasonable price
Sometimes, I don't know how it's gon' end
Even though I done seen the movie twice
Pop a wheelie, new motorbike
Some people like to live a slower life
Some niggas like to live cutthroat
I'ma be the nigga that hold the knife
You girl wan' hold me tight overnight
Who am I to tell her wrong from right?
I'ma give her more d*** than advice
You give her more strings to a kite
I just found a needle in a haystack, b****, it's payback
I found myself talkin' to myself with nothin' to say back
And I just found the keys to a Maybach I had way back
Tryna find everything but my way back

what was the tracklist for the original C3
what was the tracklist for the original C3
Unfortunately there was never an official tracklist for the original Carter 3, but we do know some of the songs that would've been on it though.
Songs like "I'm Me", "Gossip", "Kush", "La La La", "Prostitute Flange" and "Love Me or Hate Me" i'm sure would've probably been on it.
Wasn’t feeling 5 at all, 4 has a lot of corny moments but is pretty good, the first 3 all great albums though. 3 and 2 probably classics, 1 was my first Wayne album when it dropped and I fw it heavy but probably not a classic overall
Also don’t really agree with all this “Carter 3 could have been better” talk. If it hadn’t happened like it did Wayne wouldn’t be as big as he is and half the kids on this thread would be calling him dusty instead of a goat the leaks are good but for the whole overrated. I’d like to hear a cohesive album with some of the leaked tracks included that’s better than the actual album tbh. And before all the hate I’m not saying the leaks are in anyway bad

first half of what you said so true and people forget that sometimes. Only thing maybe is instead of p**** monster replacing PWF try to clear one of the leaks.
Since streaming a thing they should clear some of leaks for 15 year anny deluxe
Just looking back if C5 cut like 3 songs it might be better than C3 minus nostalgia.

Yeah I agree they should do a super deluxe. Also p**** monster most defiantly wasn’t it thankfully I have the cd from when it dropped with PWF, also replaced it on my Apple Music
