i can't believe we live in a universe where Wayne gets positive YouTube comments under his videos

12 year old me would be so proud.

Sometimes i look at old Wayne YouTube videos I used to listen to as a kid and see comments of me arguing with people 15 years ago

Em and 50 were bigger commercially in their peaks but that’s just a result of the markets they were in. Em appealed to a wider audience obviously and 50 is from the marketing capital of the world. I’m not knocking their success but the path for them was easier in comparison to Wayne. Wayne got to his peak commercially by claiming he’s the best rapper alive and had a legendary run to back it. He put fear in the rap game that’s built on competition. Really made mixtapes a thing and laid the groundwork for artist afterwards (I know 50 has mixtapes, but the impact isn’t in the stratosphere as Wayne).

I think we're on the same page.

Wayne's peak was better and more influential but theirs was bigger and had more worldwide impact.

We are, I think people were assuming I was saying Wayne was the biggest.

The 38-year-old was found to be carrying a gun and bullets when police searched a private plane in Miami in December 2019. He faced up to 10 years in prison.

    Gtfo out of here man

There are genuinely innocent black men still behind bars

Wow he had a gun on a plane... you sound dumb af.

I remember thinking in real time that C4 selling that much was weird and that Baby must be buying copies lol

He wasn’t as hot as he was in 08 let alone as hot as Drake

Wayne did 964k first week with C4.....

What is this supposed to mean? I’m not saying he completely fell off just that he was nowhere near the 08 hype to do double the first week sales lol

Wayne's run definitely wasn't bigger than Em in the 2000's fam and Wayne is my Goat.

Em literally has 3 Diamond albums from the 2000's and a movie that grossed more than Space Jam. Ya'll gotta stop downplaying his peak. 50's peak was higher too but it didn't translate into the 2010's like Wayne's nor had as big of an influence so it seems like Wayne's peak was bigger back then.

He white tho. That don’t count

2012? If we’re being honest it was like 2007-2010. Which is a great run but we already saw him slowing down around 2011

Wayne was extremely dominant during his run but it wasn’t a long run objectively

2012-2013 he got love me and rich as f*** which were huge

Em was rooted in the culture though, especially from 99-03.

He wasn't a Macklemore/Post Malone type rapper who got by off pop friendly hits and being White.

He was protested against and could go toe to toe and many of the GOAT's. It was a different situation from the average White rapper albeit his Whiteness did make him more marketable.

I do think Wayne's peak was better and more influential though.

50 & Wayne my favourite rappers and how I remember it is that Wayne's run directly followed after 50's. So maybe 50's was 2006-2009 and Wayne was 2008 - 2011? Idk, both goats nonetheless

Would say Wayne’s was from 07, arguably 06-2010
