I feel like they’re one of those new crop of artists that is just “alt” for the literal sake of it. That was probably harsh but I cannot stand yves or teezo because I get overwhelming fake, pandering, performative vibes. Aka hacky

I don’t disagree these magazines are performative I just think the phrase ‘too many’ is a lil loaded. You think white women are disproportionately recognized on this list compared to the actual quality of white women albums this year? I liked a good bit of white women music this year but that’s me

Even this is crazy too haha I can’t speak for Teezo (I like some teezo songs) but Yves was on tour with Mykki Blanco in like 2016 making noise music, then they wanted to make hits and got a lil Ariel pink in style. They seem pretty genuine and real to me. Last album was underwhelming tho
