I give black a 10 everyone else a 9
trying not to lash out on judges already
SNIPERWRLD - Like most of your albums, pretty solid although I have a few issues with the tracklist. The run time is my biggest concern seeing as its 15 tracks with the songs being 3 mins on average. Otherwise the features were spread out pretty well and the production seemed to work. 6.5
HELL GROUNDS YOU - I was excited for the album since you first teased the cover and you followed through with the aesthetic perfectly. It all comes together and the Death Grips track sounds insane 9
Skinny Amaretto Suge - I have been waiting for a short album and this was generally pretty good. I am still pretty iffy on the production being nearly entirely carried by Southside. The Death Row sample was my favorite part of the project overall. Short and sweet but a few issues with the production choices 6
WitH Apologies to My OldHeads - This album definitely lived up to being an "instant whip and concert classic." It is all very energetic and fits the persona Q has created over his career. BansHee is definitely my favorite with the Danny Brown and Rocky features over Tyler production. 7.5
Whole Lotta Red 2 - I really enjoyed the direct references to the leaks in the promo and the rollout overall was probably the best I have seen. Once again the production is incredible with the sound that was created and it all seems to mesh really well in the same way Carti's other projects did. 8.5

Out of Here Records, Don Toliver, "Dark Nights"- 5/10
The Travis single, while definitely predictable, was a good choice overall especially when combining the production and the themes. It certainly got me interested in what would happen next, because I personally have a certain affinity for night-themed albums. My problem with the project overall is that it doesn't seem to expand on Don as an artist very much. It seemed to be overly derivative from the SoundCloud sad boy era and Ye's 808s instead of creating an entirely new landscape in the way that Rodeo did. I also would have liked more interesting production choices- I love Metro and Wondagurl but their style can get tiring over entire albums- which is why I really liked songs like Wonders for using Kevin Parker and Cudi and actually building upon what the album could have done. To put it simply, I like the concept and aesthetic but feel like the execution was somewhat drab.
This is the one of the coolest things ever done on KTT, glad to see people's imaginations run wild
@CaliKhalElCaliban so i guess we won huh
Valley Records, Solange, "Me and Mine"- 8.5/10
This one really brings out the mysterious music in me
Ever since hearing My Skin My Logo and I THINK I've been thirsting for a Tyler produced Solange album. Their synergy creates this peach flavored feel in my mind- if that makes any sense. The tracklist just POPS perfectly. Twigs and Nudy on one song is brilliant. D'Angelo and the Clipse
The whole mature and composed look of Solange on this would finally be the time where she gets to her sister's level. Additional production choices were excellent, bringing Tyler with people he flows well with. I love this the same way I love When I Get Home, but this falls short for me in the same place When I Get Home did- which is that it's so muted in aesthetic when she could be getting so much more colorful. A fantastic piece here.
Valley Records, 100 gecs, "99c and Up"- 6.5/10
I took my personal taste and set it aside for a second on this one- normally, I loathe 100 gecs. Dylan and Laura's production is fine to me but their vocals set me on edge. So with that out of the way, this album is weird. It's clearly very electronic when you have prod from Daft Punk, ARCA, and Sophie- yet that's a good place for Gecs to be in. I liked that most of the tracklist were 3 minute and under songs- the shocking style gecs has really shines on those shorter tracks. Yet it seemed like there were so many skippable tracks. Most of what lacked additional production came off as non essential and sort of forgettable in the grand scheme of things. Samples/Inspirations would have been super helpful because without them I'm not really sure what I'm getting due to the very unique and non repetitive nature of their music. I think this would be a good album- just sort of incomplete.
WE BACK
Was muted last night before I could post. My apologies
