I love Alc’s mixing/mastering. I think these sound great but no reason to hate on the other stuff lol

New joint is FIRE

This really feels like it’s going to be Alc’s biggest release since Alfredo, if not bigger. I think it’s going to do for Larry what Alfredo did for Freddie, give him that final mainstream push to becoming a household name in rap

From this rollout to the aesthetics of the single covers, even the album title is probably the most maximalist sounding of any Alc album title

It used to be good but it’s gotten straight up bad over the last few years, which again is strange since it’s usually the same engineer

Compare Fetti to Alfredo. The latter sounds so much flatter and less punchy/immersive than Fetti. Same goes for comparing TPOTIC to Bo Jackson (though I still prefer BJ overall)

Bo Jackson is on par with his 2018 projects. I agree that his sonics have varied over the years but it’s clear that those choices are intentional considering Bo Jackson rivals Bread for his best engineered project

the comments about Alc's recent mastering is interesting. I think all of his s*** sounds great..

Nearly all his stuff from the past few years suffers from drums being too flat, lots of clipping, generally way too quiet sounding too

TT4 by Benny was mixed by Alc’s engineer and that’s arguably the best example of what I mean. 10 More Commandments is one of the worst sounding mixes I’ve ever heard
