What I will say on first impression is that Alchemist seems to be afraid to give himself his top shelf production whenever he’s the one rapping.

Like imagine an Alc rap album with the caliber of production he’s constantly giving to Griselda and others

I’m more surprised that he’s taking beats for himself that are this bizarre

Like Espionage how tf did they even rap on that lol

I also notice that he always keeps darker s*** for himself. We don’t get a lot of him rapping on the more bright soulful stuff

I do agree that Gangrene in particular brings a sound out of him production wise that I don’t love him for (although Sewer Gravy is a top 10 contender in his discography)

But like I know I’m not bugging. Flying High 2 was noticeably lacking compared to Flying High on the production side

Wasn’t crazy about the production on either instalment tbh

Really liked the vibes of Trouble Man and Midnight Oil and Royal Hand still slaps like crazy, but it was overall not his best work on either EP

Especially that Spitta song, I won’t lie that’s the closest I’ve ever felt to feeling like an Alc beat was AI generated lol
