That's dope bruh, I wanted to ask if you could remaster rest of mixtape: https://www.datpiff.com/TI-Fuck-A-Mixtape.123255.html
Half of the tracks I got there are remastered already, I could send you a zip so you could have some point of reference...
Nah, I don't have the time. After I'm done with these 5 albums I've got others queued up.
It sounds bright, probably mastered by someone on coke, so I suggest using the equalizer on your phone or computer's audio player and just move the sliders from around 6k and up, sloping downwards, to taste

Rip
I don’t like how they’re currently mixed either, volume is way too low. Is remastering through audacity good enough?

The volume is actually too loud, it's clipping. What i'd do is master it, take down the highs but before you export it, turn the volume down so that the peak volume doesn't go into the red. Your perceived volume is probably due to it being too bright or flat

Gotcha, I’ll give that a try
it's not terrible but it didn't Thrill me either
The Dutch pressing ripped by Tuandrei is my favorite from the bunch i've heard, it can be found over at rutracker
I've always gone for the 2001 SE versions for all of Michael's albums - will check for the Tuandrei rip. Is it a first edition 1982 rip?

Yep, that's the one

Remastered the tape successfully through Audacity, the limiter feature is so useful lmao. Sounds better tbh
Gonna use this app to remaster more tapes and older albums
Anybody got any less known/forgotten nice sounding stuff they've been listening to lately?

Currently have Space Is Only Noise playing and I'm being reminded of how unbelievably good this album is mixed

Thanks for this. Got a friend that loves that psch rock sound, was super surprised that it came out in 2016. Albums a vibe

Damn. This is a nice album. Specially for headphones in winter. Thought it may be a bit colder sounding due to it being ambient , but still has a warm sound
I'm glad you asked
I'll start with the two that I wrote a bit about in the OP
(Original Swedish pressing)
this compilation is by far one of the best sounding albums I've heard in general, there's some amazing classical pieces on it too. Purcell's New Ground, Kabalevsky, Bach, Widor, Shostakovic
(Original German pressing)
breathtaking performances on an amazing pressing, beats out the HDTT, CD and SACDs i've heard of it.
(180g Limited Edition)
With it's cool average dynamic range of 25! the Folia sends you back to the medieval ages but sounds so fresh. It takes breaks to give you SPINE CHILLINGLY clear touches of s*** you wouldn't expect to hear.. (Spoiler!) .....speaking, laughing, a crazy jazzy intro of few seconds, a chain saw, air balloons, a pocket computer game, an intro with saxofon that reminds the „PINK PANTHER-THEME“, the intro to Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black” on the sitar, a VW beetle and other strange things…
(Dutch 1st Pressing)
The best performance (bar Miles Davis') and also happen to be the best engineered. the Dynamics are so true, the quiet parts are very calm and the loud parts will throw you back. Pepe Romero really hits the nail on the nose with his performance. And take a look at the bottom left of the cover, how often do you see that on classical records! hahaa
(1981 H.S.M. LP)
The 1990 CBS Masterworks CD is also very good. Gershwin's ghost on the keys
(2012 Mercury Living Presence box set)
Yep, real CANNONs! howdy do motherfucker it's Piotr baby
(Argo ZRG654 LP)
This is thee Seasons to have
Gidon Kremer
Ight i'ma stop here, might post more later if anyones interested
know this is a year old but gunna listen to all of these across the next few days. can't thank you enough for your contribution here

I've always listened to it with headphones but I listened to it on my home theater system with a subwoofer today and it was insane. Having the room filled with those sounds was so nice

you into Messiaen at all? just wrote a paper on saint Francois d'asisse act iii the other day and had a bit of a musical break through to say the least
Y'all should check out "Nobody Knows" by Autograf, WYNNE
One of the best experiences on a nice pair of cans.

No but i'll check it out Thanks
Been a while since my last post, here's some classical goodies i've come across since then
This gets full marks for sound quality and performance. You know that s***s right when you hear the air in the room change
I came across a rip on youtube of the 2nd movement and was blown away. Then I went searching for a Karajan CD, WEB or vinyl rip that was as good or better but none had quite the same impact I was looking for. After that I asked for FLAC file and thankfully got the whole LP. Post Malone if you want any of these btw
This is the ’77 cycle. Although the quieter moments don’t sound as revealing as the one from 62′, this pressing sounds more dynamic and clearer at louder moments. Some elements aren’t nearly as felt in the ’62 like the strings in the left channel at 2:33 into the 2nd movement.
I'm yet to compare this '03 CD with the earlier ones. The more famous André Previn & Vladimir Ashkenazy CD is also fantastic and I'd say a must listen
Some very nice reissues from recent years that I've come across..
I've compared this with so many vinyl rips and CDs and this comes out on top. Stays true to the original but with a few touches that improve upon it. Don't bother with the vinyl
I recently discovered this band so it's so dope that all their albums recently got a carefully done reissues
What a feeling to listen to one of your most played albums from your adolescence but now with much more clarity and dynamic range. I wish labels would start doing this for real instead of leaving it up to us to do our own downmixes from streaming platforms' multi channel mixes
I got the AKG N400 and they sound fantastic for wireless audio, it's really surprising how far bluetooth audio gear has come and this doesn't even have lossless wireless.

it's rated a B++ here by Crinacle, his highest rated TWS IEM
great sound, great value
Best I've heard this album sound is on a needledrop of the new UHQR.
and here's a pressing that made me appreciate more an album that I was never that hot on, as much as apparently everybody else on earth
King Record Co. Japan | GXK 8055 | 1958 / 1978
Most reissue were mastered brightly to bring out detail but that is usually a double edged sword. By brightening, they made the whole soundstage a lil weirder. This darker version, although closer to the original mono (i've not heard an original stereo), has a soundstage I can wrap my ahead around, there's detail you can grasp that you couldn't in the remasters i've heard and it, over all, beats my previous go-to, 1992 Wally mastered pressing
