If I ever get to try them I'll consider the 1990 against the Fidelio x3's when they release
DT1990 are great probably, but not everyone would like highs produced by Beyerdynamics.
My next goal is Focal Alpha 80s Im gonna get this f***ers sooner or later

Yeah, people complain about K712’s highs as well. It depends on music, like loud pop will have a lot of sibilance
hot take: I don't think the mastering of Thriller is anything to rave about
Yeah I came to that realization with the pressing you gave me. I thought I was finally gonna get the thing that people have been raving about. It's sounds fine but it's nothing mind blowing
Is it just me or does it seem my M40X sound better through my Mac than phone
maybe your mac uses a better soundcard

What I figured, the music sounds more spacious with greater detail but some of the bass is lost

just finished. it's dead silent which is nice, the mix has a nice depth (even though it's mastered loud) and some of the background vocals have more highs so those massive parts sound larger and the vocals are very clear.... however.. the drums don't sound right throughout (a good example is after that carny organ sound near the end of the last track, they don't bang nearly as much as the 2004 CD or og stateside LP). Some instruments and synths sound like they lack detail and the whole thing isn't as dynamic as it should be... this is the CD version though, I'ma check out the vinyl release in due time.
I added HiFiBerry to my Raspberry Pi and connected it to my stereo amplifier and the sound is very crisp when streaming over Spotify and Apple Music.
