so the curfew is only for certain LGAs?

also what do they define as exercise? cause if you don’t have to mask up exercising can’t anybody going for a daily walk say they’re exercising??

  • Aug 20, 2021

anyway i hate the idea of curfews

Might pick up a board and fk around with it but if Gladys is to be believed well have stuff like gyms back by November.

I find it hard to believe they won’t buckle under the media though and extend s***

transmission doesn't happen outside so it doesn't matter either way, pointless oPtIcS rule

absolutely i would say taking a walk is exercise.

maybe because nsw had the chance to easily contain it? nah couldn't be it

How you gonna blame an entire state lol?

The problem starts from the top (federal) then goes state where restrictions became politicised.

But trust me Melbourne is heading the same direction of Sydney. The reason there’s high numbers is south west Sydney and high numbers of non compliance and vaccine hesitancy. Melbourne will encounter similar problems for sure

I am ethnic myself but it’s obvious from Sydney’s lockdown vaccine statistics and also Melbourne’s last lockdown that certain cultural makeups are more non compliant with covid related restrictions and from Sydney’s experience with vaccination. Pretty much every other old person dying with COVID the last few weeks in the south west was unvaccinated. Liverpool has a 40-50% vaccine rate

today was a bad day, they brought in a bunch of bullshit that doesn't do anything because lisa wilkonson cried about it

i had faith they would grit their teeth but not to be

wait until the grand reopening and people start dying, a few of whom have been vaxxed. that will be fun.

media will have an absolute field day

I swear the media loves lockdowns because people don’t have much to do but are forced to watch their horse s*** shows and their ratings are peaking probably

yeah it's not a bad shout

hopefully once enough punters are double vaxxed they lose patience with this whole thing and really start applying pressure that things need to move on

I can't say it enough, the aus/nz perspective right now is insanely dislocated from reality. if that holds once the vaccine targets are hit (e.g. McGowan) we are in for a GREAT time...

the world is a different place now, we're the only two nations on earth yet to accept it

anytime someone mentions "beating" covid i cringe

it's an infectious disease, not a football team.

it doesn't lose or go away

it's not "insidious" nor does it have feelings

it just is and will continue to be... take the technology we have to reduce the impact it has and shut the F*** up

Yep. We are too extreme on one side. Been almost two years ffs. Has to be a compromise at a certain point. Really feel for those who are struggling financially and as a result are suffering mentally as well. It’s ridiculous. Their roadmaps are still the same as last year and more worryingly it seems like they didn’t discuss how things would work if a second wave happened like we’re experiencing now even after Melbourne last year. Still the one size fits all approach.

looks like certain states are breaking away from the "roadmap" already too

McGowan said he wants Covid Zero. Andrews said that's the goal of their lockdowns right now. Anastasia around the mark as well. They're now saying restrictions should be loosened not based on vaccinations but cases. 2020 thinking to a not-2020 problem. No understanding of the bigger picture or global context at all
