More like 5-10 but for somewhat different reasons.
One of Americas major problems, particularly for young people, is the inaccessibility but near 'mandatory' nature of the tertiary education system. In Australia we pretty much have the same case but more so due to lucrative income from international students. Australia's major cities have way too many universities and have way too much staff that are over-paid for doing basic stuff (admin staff in particular are way over paid if you compare it to a normal job at a normal office). Now that international student income obviously isnt as high as expected many are struggling to stay afloat.
This leads to so many problems, firstly its increasing chinese intervention and influence in Australia. I dont know how anyone can debate this when we have University students being 'suspended' for Pro-HK stances and senior lecturers being diminished due to similar stances in chinese only communication. Our country has also had security attacks from China, is overly reliant on trade from them, had the property market hiked up by national and foreign investors, etc.
In Australia its the same thing in the sense that university tuitions are on the rise for no good reason, importance of Uni is over-stressed to create and keep cushy jobs etc. This is all s*** people dont want to hear because they have friends or families employed by Unis (including me) but its the truth that we have way too many unis for whats needed for our domestic population and then some. Unis accept pretty much anyone now and I'd love to see studies on how many actually get into graduate programs or jobs which require uni experience.
Also I already wrote a wall which no one will probably read. But increased housng prices with no increase in wages, increasing recreational costs (e.g. food/eating out), introduction of tipping culture, increase of renting and lack of home ownership in the younger generation, etc.
Influence of Press like Murdoch doesn't need to be talked about...
Man f*** uni
october 28th is the earliest point where we can return to some semblance of normalcy. that is tough ffs
Well, I just dropped uni for the rest of the year. I need these restrictions to drop so I can finally get my licence.
At least it is nearly spring and I can start going to the beach again tho

I always had average grades and study skills, online isn't really ideal. Also after Last trimester my WAM was low like 63% and I need to get it up so I can transfer into a double degree.
I can def see how it is a great time for others but not for me :(
when is this getting pinned?
I'm up at 9:32pm after curfew started 🙈
