this movie is kinda funny right?
i’m like laughing every now and then but rest of ppl in theater not so now i’m trippin lol
I was laughing by myself for most of it
Also never laughed while everyone around me laughed to Everything Everywhere All At Once so who knows honestly
Yea this was great. Didn’t expect it to be that sad tho yikes all around the same time frame homie lost his sister, his donkey, his morals and dom
And yes @proper i paid technically, being I watched on HBO Max

real for the last part
Didn’t watch trailer or read up much about this, wasn’t expecting it to be as funny as it was
Ending kinda confused me Brendan character was extending an olive branch trying to rekindle friendship but Colin decided it’s too far gone? I think their was some commentary with the war going on that I missed
Also question about Barry character did he kill himself cause he got rejected?

not so sure he was extending an olive branch moreso saying that they were even now after he burned the house down, but after everything Colin didn’t even want him as a friend anymore, he wanted him dead. I think he just felt what I imagine to be disdain and anger.
it’s heavily implied he killed himself after that, yes.

I just figured cause he started making small talk about the war it was like he was trying to be friends again. After it wanting to talk to him at all
Yup
Man, this went from amusing to sad af. Third act left me a mess - honestly felt like crying.
Man I really disliked Colm - because instead of dealing with his sadness in a healthy way, he did the exact opposite and ended up ruining something that was pure, beautiful, and above all, meaningful. Not just for Padraic, but for so many other people.
Above all else, please be kind.
it takes 2 to tango doesnt it
I dont wanna tango
you were dancin with your dog
this got the biggest laugh when i watched it in cinema

these are my exact sentiments
i just feel so sad right now
I think my least favorite thing about McDonagh is how gimmicky his style is. That’s quite apparent when his characters are just as one dimensional as most of what is seen in movies nowadays but it’s hidden behind the off beat humorous dialogue of his. Terrible film

Not liking the movie is fine, but saying the characters are one dimensional is wild to me.
I'm convinced you don't even know what that means exactly, because to imply the characters didn't experience any sort of arc is just plain false.

You have very bizarre takes tbh

What arc did they really go through though? It’s just the same kind of character arcs you see for any other oscarbait drama where the men are stupid and keep doing stupid s*** while the female character is the voice of reason. There’s nothing here that implies anything different

Great action and editing and unlike the pro cop/US propaganda y’all shill for, it’s nice to see a movie prioritize brotherhood over everything else
Funny enough there was more emotion and characterization to the leads in Ambulance than to a movie with zero action like Insherin.
