5 years to rework an entire movie from a solo movie to a whole new universe, change the cast/crew, and change BATMAN actors vs. 5 years to make a sequel

I have. I’ve been the OG Pattinson stan since he was cast. What I’m really arguing is that being Batman in the DCU would not challenge Rob creatively. The Batman films on the other hand give him so much to work with. I don’t think the same can be said for a potential Justice League movie or a World’s Finest movie unless Matt Reeves is in charge of everything Batman at DC Studios.

Cmon dude...Have you ever watched the Guardians of the Galaxy series? Gunn literally took a living tree and talking raccoon then made some of the most heartfelt scenes in a superhero movie

Pattinson is also shooting Nolans The Odyssey next year. Depending on how Big his role is he might be busy for most of the year and that seems further along than Batman 2.
So that might play a role in the delay as well

Me personally I'd rather they stay separate and let Reeves finish his trilogy first and for Gunn to focus on other characters before doing Batman again

We always heard spring or summer for Batman and somehow the latter must have made them feel Oct 2026 was too tight and they moved it a whole year. Seems like they are firm on an October release

It’s clear that some movies have increased demand for IMAX like a Dune or a Marvel movie or Batman, etc.

People will pay for IMAX/Dolby for big event movies and studios would have an easier time booking screens if there were more.
