Why would they do Clayface man, especially since we getting an entire Clayface film in 2026

I think we all gotta come to terms with this take on Batman being another grounded adaptation overall. I don’t think we’ll see any of the character’s more fantasy-leaning villains, and if they are they’ll be adapted in a very real-world way

I don't think we know the main villain, nor will for a while. Doubt this will be as simple as people might theorize

Its still going to be largely focused on Bruce/Batman and villains get minimal space + enhance the dive into Gotham/Bruce

Reeves said something back in 2022 about working from the emotional element of Freeze with Nora and all, then building from there for his approach with fantastical characters

idk about about the cross pollination but they good actors so imma be cautiously optimistic

I mean CBM's in general at this point. The first option was Emma Stone who's also been in them despite her later prestige and Oscars in very different roles.

Clayface is Reeves' production too that's why. He's not only a lead producer, but the film was rumored for Crime Saga at first. It falls under the radar cus he doesn't yap about other productions much like Gunn does.

There was a trail of rumors following his interest in the character that turned out to be true. He just didn't end up using it for Crime Saga for whatever reason and then Flanagan oddly never stuck around either.

I still am not convinced Reeves has a literal aversion to fantastical, he's just hesitant for the role it plays in this current Year 2/3 Gotham and how it should be introduced. We're still just in the same period

Also, Clayface at least so far, sounds like a fairly grounded film idea for the character considering. Its a $40M psychological horror flick that starts from a grounded idea

Reeves already said this film’s story will be different than what’s been done before . He isn’t going to do a Dark Knight remake
