I mean…there aren’t really expectations as of now. They’re dead silent on story and prob will be until the trailer releases

At best, we have three new main cast, but even details are slim there beyond rumors and leanings. Let’s say they’re probably the Dents, what does that tell us?

Freeze being there doesn’t necessarily discount what Reeves said. His comment on villains was vague at best and we’re otherwise relying on rumors and trades.

I do still lean towards them potentially doing it, but with seeds planted leading up to Part 3.

Mr freeze was a main villain already so unless he means “never been done story wise” but no s*** he’s not gonna retell the story a previous live action movie told.

This is why it was vague tho lol like we still don't know what he meant 7 months later. And all we've got since are castings believed to be the Dents, which has spurred little to no creative theories or new expectations anyway. In fact it led some people to think this was retreading.

Like did he mean never been in a live action film, a film at all, a new iteration of a previous villain, etc... At the Emmy's you could see him actively hesitate as he was saying that. "Never......really....been done in a film before.."

Any idea has to ultimately link to a heavy Bruce Wayne centered story. If its Freeze we wouldn't just get a Batman & Robin repeat. If there's one thing Matt has been firm on, its that this is doubling down on Bruce. Whether its Dents, Freeze, Owls, etc... it has to unfold something about Bruce.

Idk man just doesn’t feel like it’s mr freeze. What would you even do for him that’s grounded? He couldn’t have his iconic s*** lol. My guess is still court of owls.

I feel like setting is also important too though. They tried to make Riddler come across way more serial killer like to fit Halloween mold for The Batman. If Reeves push continues to be snow pics, including Battinson's reveal, its kinda hard to ignore villain ideas that match. We have no real leads so far beyond suspected castings.

Even Batman Returns used snow to introduce that iteration of Penguin, who was "cold-blooded" and thrived at low temps.

As for grounded, I personally don't see Reeves Gotham being as limited as many like to say. A freeze gun can totally be operationalized for the real world, especially in a winter setting imo. It'd be a scientific leap made by a character who's literally a cryogenics expert.
