Any possibilities it could be two villains? 1 we haven’t seen before and then another like Freeze?

Idk just feels too fantastical for Reeves. I’d like Mr Freeze as well I just can’t see it for this movie. I don’t think it’d be a version of Mr freeze most people are imagining either.

I also don't think Court of Owls is what people often argue it is either.

There's no build to the Court or major story of corruption in Snyder's comic. Bruce's crime was announcing plans to build the city with his money, which triggered the Court to order Talon to kill him. That's it.

Reeves has already laid that ground here. Thomas Wayne ran for mayor, had a Gotham renewal project for good funded by Wayne family, and he mysteriously was killed weeks later. There's no Joe Chill we know of in Reevesverse either its a cold case.

The Court was never discovered via detective skills. They're above that and aren't concerned about Batman's normal operations. He has no major affect on how the city is ran. The wealthy elite weren't touched at all in Riddler's whole plot beyond the Wayne attempt which was a personal gripe.

Yeah freeze could be a smaller role possibly. Think the Joker is in this too. Penguin as well. I just kinda like the court of owl theories too. Makes a lot of sense for it to be them imo.

Important to still remember its a Bruce Wayne story. The runtime is dominated by Pattinson in a way its never been for previous Batman actors

Like there's Penguin already, new main cast, etc... There's gonna be "multiple villains" in the film, but prob only one central antagonist.

Out of all the new cast it seems more likely ScarJo plays the biggest role based on how roles were rumored. I'm just speculating other s***

Cryogenics is a real science. Fries works on sub-zero temperatures. Maybe he doesn't have a toy gun but machine or something to freeze people over. Doing this in winter makes most sense, as the victims would stay frozen overnight. He's not a powered villain and maybe only would need a suit to protect himself.

It's a leap from the first film that's pretty healthy. Reeves mentioned the potential to do Freeze himself in press for The Batman. Most of Freeze is suspended belief in advanced science than it is purely fantastical, but his story is deeply grounded and emotional

If there is absolutely nothing fantastical about his 3 movie run he missing out on a lot of fun .

I know it is but cmon dude you can picture someone with an ice weapon in this universe based off the first movie and the penguin? Hell no. And the penguin is more grounded lol that’s why it’s nothing like we thought. I’d be willing to bet money it’s not Mr freeze as the main protagonist. I know he said he wanted to do Mr freeze but I just don’t think it’s this movie.

Personally I can. Never been a fan of how fans discuss grounded vs fantastical and feel like we're often stricter than Reeves. I've maintained the same argument Part 2 will make a leap since the first film premiered, and entertain a variety of villains.

The Batman was more or less what canon Year 2, Falcone & Maroni era should be. Now we're beyond that so leaps are natural.

I'm not making bets just throwing things out there. I've had similar extensive theories and arguments over Phantasm, Dents and Owls already so i'm not really able to throw all coins at one.

What relevance is a time build? Entire swaths of the city were killed or had their lives ruined by the flood that just happened. Two families that ran Gotham for decades were all wiped out entirely in this time. Batman wasn't there for any of this.

You can pretty much make up anything. Its already a new era and unless you're rich in this Gotham life is very different.

Like there has to be a new villain coming along doing weird s*** anyways lol. Does it make the biggest difference if he's a scientist or takes revenge in unique and scary ways? Nothing I said involved supernatural powers or anything

Cause it’s only 2 months lol. This Batman isn’t gonna be able to make a crazy amount of new gadgets or upgrades in that span bros just starting out. It’d be so weird watching the Batman, Penguin, and then this if this goes a lot more fantastical. Just saying I feel it’s a lot more of a stretch having someone shoot an ice gun or weapon instead of like court of owls. Those families were all just mob bosses too nothing crazy unrealistic lol. It just doesn’t fit the tone they’ve set so far in a damn near 3 hour movie and penguin show.

I’m not sure why it has to stay “grounded”. I personally hate that term when it comes to CBMs. I think there’s a way to stretch the limits of reality and be true to the source material without making it super campy.

As long as it’s got that grimey serious tone they established in the first film, they can work in a little cryogenic science horror. Just have Gordon and Battinson slowly start to discover frozen bodies around Gotham. Unravel the mystery. Incorporate more suspense and horror elements than like “supervillain evil laugh while blasting a freeze gun all over town” type s***.

I don’t think it needs to be grounded. It’s how Reeves said his movies would be though. Not my choice lol. I just can’t see him making it much like the traditional Mr Freeze based on how he made the riddler and penguin.

This movie's such a mystery to me, like 2 weeks before production starts nobody's got a clue who'll even be the poster villain

This was kinda my point. Its a weird path for fans (who should be the more creative and reaching ones) to fall into imo. Its like we now police ourselves on what to theorize based on what we claim the creator can't do. We end up more strict than Reeves and casuals who seemingly can easily see this stuff

If Freeze were to use something like a liquid nitrogen base gun and attack victims, they'd die from cryogenic burns, frostbite, and freeze over night. That's a possible angle for a detective story. Like its a scientist doing science with a dash of suspended belief most action movies (including The Batman) have.

Central villain is only getting like 20 min of a 2-3 hour film. This wouldn't be riddled with scenes of him shooting. Nora would be the most important facet
