Why is James Gunn on threads answering questions about this lmao
Dude has had a wild history with social media.
Has there ever been a film that turn out fine when a second director took over?
Dredd with Alex Garland
Garland also wrote the screenplay.

Feel like this one shouldn’t count since he wrote the screenplay lol.
He definitely had the original version for the film to begin with.
Not tryna hate but some people genuinely believe TDKR was the perfect conclusion to the trilogy
To me it was concrete proof that even goated artists can miss
Total train wreck with a few cool scenes early on
Second half to me is practically Batman and robin level only self serious
Oceans 11 the only good one, the rest is just celebrity worship slop for ppl who love to read tabloid mags to get their celeb mingling together fix
Just scrolled Steven soda filmography and it’s very underwhelming
Even the better ones aren’t my style, so much Julia Robert’s and George Clooney ew
Traffic was good from what I remember tho
Ocean's 11 I got nostalgia for, fun little flick and decently directed
Ocean's 12 takes some bold swings and I fw it for that, I really remember digging the ending too
Ocean's 13 hella weak sadly
Only other Soderbergh I remember seeing off the dome is Haywire, which was a fun little thriller for memory
edit: Actually I just remembered I saw the Che movies as well - ambitious little duology, though not quite as captivating as I was hoping. Recommended, though

But didnt Reeves write it too?
He at least already directed half of it

Reeves isn’t the replacement.
We’re referring to the person replacing the original director. Meaning Alex being a replacement had an upper hand because he already understood the material since the wrote it.
Soderbergh Was trying to do that Star Wars Ben solo movie so I wonder if this will scratch that itch a little
Soderbergh is hit or miss but I like him overall. I’m sure with Reeves still involved it’ll turn out fine
Very curious to see how they handle the credits with this one tbh
DGA rules state that only the director that handled the majority of the overall movie needs to be credited as director (hence why Whedon was credited for directing JL2017, despite a bunch of the footage still originating with Snyder), but with how public they're being about Soderbergh it feels like they might have some kind of major acknowledgement

Mfs don’t like oceans 13
Soderbergh a real shooter idk wtf niggas even debating about
This almost like if fincher pulled up, we ain't got no worries other than the health of Matt reeves and his family 🙏
I really trust Soderbergh here, so many of his movies have been made essentially to justify stylistic experiments he's interested in, and I think he'll fully commit to the unique challenge of making a movie exactly how Matt Reeves would make it
Maybe we were wrong to hate Gunn @KnightmareLeague
we weren’t thread just needs a heartwarming moment
