Gotham in Burton era and Reeves universe felt like Gotham.

Gotham in the TDK series feels like Chicago

People who raised their brow at the very minor surrealism with Bruce in BvS.

They didn't even wanna see suicide squad joker or Joaquin joker because it won't be good as Heath Ledger.

wym bro that trilogy is still known as the best superhero trilogy to a lot of people still and for the character of batman that was the best version of him on screen to casuals regardless, hence peak, i agree with y’all it wasn’t the best version of batman but it was cohesive and enjoyable to most of the general public

Man I know casuals who even years later had never even seen Batman begins or even knew it existed but they damn sure know TDK. And only some of that crowd saw TDKR

Which is insane cuz The Batman had a better voice / suit than Bale's Batman and did more detective work and achieved more of a Noir feel.

Burton's Batman with Michelle Pfeiffer had a better Catwoman and leaned into the gothic / supernatural elements better than TDK and Reeves.

Schumacer's has that charming camp of the old comics

Snyder's for all the s*** he gets captured the physicality and was the most intimidating one on screen (in my opinon).

That's not to s*** on Nolan either cuz I feel like his stuff was real grandiose but you really can't say s*** cuz niggas would jump down on your throat.

Batman has over decades of history through video games, comic books, cartoons, movies and such.

There's people that still hold Batman: The Animated Series over TDK trilogy. There's people that are revisiting and reappraising the Burton movies.

And there's people that I know that saw this s*** off first watch and immediately enjoyed it more than Nolan's just off action setpieces and Rob's portrayal.

yeah that’s definitely a gamble i’ll admit but in terms of live action quality, that trilogy simply set the modern standard yeah i think pattinson the best batman already and gotham is everything we asked for in the batman, the hardcore fans gonna focus on the character regardless of the version, casuals moreso the movie

Reeves has never said the supernatural s*** can't happen, he said there just has to be a reason for it.

I feel like fans unintentionally took the wrong conclusion from some of his comments on being "grounded" and began to restrict their idea of his universe far more than he does. I see similar comments all the time questioning the inclusion of literally every Batman villain lol

There was an argument here once if Freeze could even be in Reeves' universe despite Reeves himself saying he'd be interested in using Freeze. Like he didn't mean Nolan grounded he meant taking the comic book/animated concepts and seeing where it connects in the world. Clayface's story especially from BTAS is very much adaptable
