The Batman franchise really is in a weird place right now…

-A Joker universe where Bruce is still a child, but Joker’s actions indirectly cause Bruce’s parents deaths . And he’ll probably eventually become Batman, but we won’t see it happen

-The grounded ReevesVerse that just suffered a giant delay for The Batman sequel. And a Penguin show with no release date

-Brave and The Bold film that won’t be connected to ReevesVerse, and will probably feature Robin and have a more fantastical feel

-Batman Caped Crusader animated show that is a spiritual successor to BTAS, no release date and WB sold it to Amazon

I wish Gunn would just do a big Batman media event where he just gives clarification on all the upcoming Batman content

I'm still holding out hope that this year push back of the Batman part 2 is just giving James Gunn and Peter Safran more time to convince Matt Reeves to get Pattinson in the DCU. In that time, Reeves will be able to see Superman, it's box office, critical and fan reception. If Superman is a big hit, I think Reeves will down. That's my conspiracy theory, might be dead wrong.

Like I really believe that Matt can be convinced if Superman is a BIG hit. In fact, I don't blame him if he wants to know how the first DCU movie does before attaching his already successful film to this franchise. But if Superman is successful it could actually boost The Batman's status. I'm reaching I'm sure, but my fingers are crossed.
