it’s ironic that him writing this song is the prequel to sip when you think about it

if it weren’t for him idk how the 70s run would’ve been, surfs up, holland and so tough is all under his direction of rebranding them - once he was gone it went bad again (15 big ones, MIU album..)

he wrote some great lyrics too (you need a mess to stand alone) and is the one singing on “a day in the life of a tree”

the reason dennis took back his songs and shelved them is bc jack insisted the project had to focus on surfs up and have the song as its closer - dennis wanted “wouldn’t it be nice to live again” to close the album, carl agreed with jack to go with surfs up which is why dennis walked away with his songs
