such a comfy one
only real ones itt, god this song takes me away, like im flying over hawaii or something, even inspired me to write an original song in the same vibes, what a mood, id say itās underrated, man if you play this then diamond head then pet sounds the title song, on god itās worth an lsd trip
speaking of pet sounds the title track did you know it was originally titled run, james run and considered for a bond opening credits title song: he got the inspiration the year prior from listening to the soundtrack for āthunderballā
if it would have came through it would have then landed for āyou only live twiceā, granted itās hard to want to take back the nancy sinatra song that came to be for that movie but still, great missed opportunity, hereās a cool video that puts it together for us to visualize it (altho the title card scene would have look different), it comes off really cool
someone also put it over thunderball even tho it donāt work chronologically wise it kinda does as itās what inspired the song and the visual fits even better
Denny's Drums
bet, i was gonna go for bull sessions with the big daddy feel like itās more defined and distinguished in layers on the delicate crafting
Itās the best work theyāve done imo, Brian is one of the greats.
Production on Rio Grande sounds nice, donāt mind the vocals also. Will give Friends a listen next.

the good vibrations with all the collage stuff is incredible and even more of a bigger love letter than just covering it,very impressed and i would say so needed for a song so popular and often just covered so many times without a change in it

and mike patton also said of sol invictus
Itās a post-punk record with tons of atmosphere. Itās like ELO or The Beach Boys going through a gothic laundry cycle.
i can hear that, LOVE this song:

!https://youtu.be/8wWCgjDPZwQMike is insanely talented, really enjoy most of the work Iāve heard from him, so thatās an opinion I really respect. Mr.Bungle is probably my fave band heās involved in.
That Good Vibrations cover is absurd. Iāve replayed that a few times already lol

bro patton is brazzy talented, a true artist in its pure dictionary form, he does as he please despite who follows or unfollows! the score for place beyond pines is so good
i know right? you gotta understand that he samples so many versions of the song through it, there is a LOT of work that is put into that, i can feel the passion the dude did all his research holy s***, even tho ofc most through it itās him and his band playing and singing but you can hear all the details
speaking of mr bungle!!!!! trevor dunn the bassist for mr bungle confirmed that the title for the album california is a bb reference š¤š¤
When we were throwing around titles that we thought summed up the vibe of that collection of songs both āIn Technicolorā and āCaliforniaā seemed fitting. Another one we had was āMap To The Starsā. Hollywood musicals, colorization, fabrication, the American dream āthese were vague concepts that the song-writing just happened to suggest. I seem to remember staying up late one night and making a list of these titles and āCaliforniaā was one of them. Certainly there is a nod to Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys.
