I'ma use this thread to highlight some of the new niggas I've been exposed to this year that honestly, give me a lot of hope for this decade. We talk all the time about the type of production we don't like or we think "sounds the same." I figure let's highlight the type of production/music that at least is exciting to niggas y'know?
I had second thoughts about making this thread but f it. We all (myself most definitely included) be getting too pessimistic about the "future" of hip hop sometimes.
If someone asked me what the future of hip hop could sound like, I say this is a glimpse of it.
Experimentation and just not giving a f*** doing whatever he want, and it's from my city. I gotta give flowers when it's due. Also when I first heard that beat I s*** bricks
nigga got in his telfair over some 90s alt rock s***.
Like....nigga this s*** is beautiful.
shoutout to @XantaClaus (i saw you mention him in a thread a while ago) for honestly bringing him to my mind.
@CliCity @Mitchell @doves @AmoryBlain @YoungNastyShawty @proper @user @Jim_Halpert_
Not to go off topic but Big Boi deserves more credit for that project he did with the Indie rock band, Phantogram.

I'm mad I missed this.
But that song with little dragon definitely was proof he can get in that indie bag so I'm not surprised.

Listening to Pyrotechnics rn and this s*** is crazy.
Aye while we at new acts, as someone that rock ain't even my main bag (I didn't grow up on it like my dad did), your band visuals be crazy my nigga.

I swear Big Boi wrote ASAP's verse. I almost thought he rapped first when I heard it lol
06 Burst is so chaotic I love it lol.
Mosh pit type s***.
Ayeeee glad to see some Kenny Mason appreciation on here
Completely agree too. Him and Jean Dawson both mastered the whole mixing rap with rock sound.
That song Pup is soooo crazy. The whole production is doing some genre-bending s*** where it sounds like some alien s*** then they throw in guitars, then it switches halfway thru the song, and the whole time Kenny just finessing on the beat
My cousin f***ing worship this guy. Not my style but either way he nice as f*** he gon blow up soon enough
