Horror High art willy Wonka sounds like a great movie and it feels like none of that description even comes close to the menu.

Whether they were being "deadass" or self aware doesn't change the writing is at about the same level to me in terms of humor. You People at times was trying to be satire it was just bad. The satire here in the trailer really isnt hitting no matter how self aware it is . That is again why I mentioned Velma.

Their humor are both just the same punchline of "they are black get it". Which I keep saying but some how its not connecting for some .

Whether you think You People was self aware or not. Roscoes Chicken meeting, basketball, gang colors is cringe to me in the same ways as much of this trailer that is all I am saying.

Caricatures of black people to me is like Tyler Perry Movies, You People and this. That is why I mentioned it. It doesn't work for me. If it works for you and its your s*** cool I respect it enjoy it.

I can kinda see their point this is being made intentionally as a satire of black people portrayed in horror films. The stereotypes are being played up intentionally to show how unrealistic the group is.
Whereas You People played it more straight and wanted to make a culture war movie and used stereotypes to bring the other cultures down, especially since they weren’t in a genre film but just regular folks acting obnoxious. It’s more akin to cabin in the woods then you people imo

Like I get that but my comparison is focused on just going all in on stereotype jokes. I know this is self aware but when you get to the Rosa Parks hoody joke its like just missing for me . Same as a Velma being self aware of what you are doing doesn't necessarily make it funny.

Like yes this more scary movie level which is is sometimes just cringe to me. that is why I compared it. The feeling of watching You People Trailer and this are both like cringe stereotype feels to me. That is just my personal opinion.
