nah this man has made plenty of money in his life and his discography alone is worth hella money so it makes sense imo
he's a certified legend at this point man what else does he have to prove in his twilight years? there's no way to exploit this man posthumously because he's released so much vault tracks in his life already
Bruce had such an unstoppable run for those first 7 or 8 albums, and there's still been so much goodness since then. Deserves to secure an even bigger bag before he's not even around to see it
I hope all these sales means that streaming money the owners of the music rights will go up at some point

Labels are downstream from streaming services.

He saying maybe there is some conspiracy work behind the scenes to raise payouts from streaming in future.

The per stream idea of stream revenue isn't really correct for major labels. Sony gets huge cash advances and free ad space from Spotify that they don't even have to divvy up to the artists that allow it to command such a deal.
In section 4(a), Spotify agrees to pay a $25 million advance for the two years of the contract: $9 million the first year and $16 million the second, with a $17.5 million advance for the optional third year to Sony Music. The contract stipulates that the advance must be paid in installments every three months, but Spotify can recoup this money if it earns over that amount in the corresponding contract year.
"I’ve worked at the major labels, and I’ve worked at the indies, so I’ve seen both sides of the business," says Rich Bengloff, president of the American Association of Independent Music. "A lot of the time, money that is paid outside of the direct usage doesn’t end up getting shared."
Owning masters is overrated. How long does it take to make 500 mil with selling your music to films and actual music sales? And doesnt ownership last only 80 years after you die?
Clickbait title fr..
Had me thinking ross won
This is just his publishing
"The musician has sold his masters to Sony Music and his publishing to Sony Music Publishing in a combined deal, according Billboard sources. "
Cuz he used to get the show money from the venues himself and give it to the band members. Like a boss handing out paychecks
Damn, like a mob boss. No wonder Silvio Dante joined the E Street band.
why would they do this
He old as s*** and his music is irrelevant to the younger generation who will be the main consumers of music and like with anything of value sell when it's high.
Better to take that half a billion and leave it for your family then leave em the rights to music that by the time they 30 or 40 won't have value.

Yeah like we're living in an era where people not paying for music and no one our age is gonna he bumping him in 20 years so he's smart as hell to just bail out now.
Jeez man. Makes you wonder how much some of these other big name artists catalogues are worth. I know R. Kelly was apparently trying to sell his to anyone who would listen to pay his legal fees and no one wanted it
