I dunno about misogynist but Cole is definitely patronizing to women and says some sus s*** for sure, this new track included.

No Role Modelz is pretty bad.

misogyny can also be belittling, which cole could've been interpreted as undermining what she was saying while also saying he didn't like her tone

Snow on Tha Bluff is problematic as f*** because it mirrors the age old "man shushes angry black woman" scenario and tries to spin it like the man is doing the most to help when it's ultimately about his ego getting bruised.

    I agree.

And I'm not hating on either, cause I wanna see Cole grow and develop some of these ideas where he's lacking,

Noname got the right to be angry too, over a lot of these issues. Maybe some of the tweets were off and what not but for the most part i'm on her side of this.

He didn't shush her. He offered his, admittedly very dumb, opinion on her approach. Which, as we all know, has alienated a lot of her former fans already.

She offered a critique first. You don't see me saying she's using the "black male abandonment" trope. Because I'm not a scold.

The line about him having a problem with the queen tone

    is like backhanded though.

It's not just this song but more subtle nods to misogynist views

it's not overt crazy just sayin something like "bitches thots blah blah blah"

(and btw I'm not trying to s*** on u or none of that because - we've seen how these threads get when it gets out of control. I'm down to hear ur opinion and where u coming from.)

Cole did the same thing he did with Lil Pump: attempt to provide advice/perspective (in this case, with regards to her tone and timing) when it wasn't requested, only to grate on people. The context compounded things.

The second verse provides insight into the first. Noname said something that resonated with him and I wish he would have focused on that meaningful insight. There is an important message here about feeling disengaged as a leader that would have made for a great song.

Idk if it was just like lil pump, thats kinda different

noname at a different level different lane and different discussion than pump so im not feeling that part

but yes the context compounded the response absolutely

I'm just saying, I think Cole is getting to this elder statesman point of his career where he's trying to drop knowledge on the new school and that is where tracks like these come from.
