My elementary school had me in the gifted program and they made me compete in the district with my art. They put up the trips and the pro art supplies and I gave them the medals to display in the school. It was a win win for both even though I was forced. They took me to the lacma and a bunch of other cool places for field trips that were only for the gifted group. Idk how it was funded now that I think back since the school always claimed to be be broke

We had fundraisers all the time, we even had to wash cars at school to fund science camp wtf
