Anyone else in SoCal feel like traffic has been even worse this month than it was last year? I’m scared that it’s just normal going forward because companies that we’re still hybrid decided to go back to normal starting in 2023
I’m in LA and have def been noticing it creep back in. The 101 has been especially insane.

Yup. All the companies are ending work-from-home and we are back to pre-pandemic traffic. I think we collectively forgot how overcrowded SoCal is lol

Seems like their solution is building new toll roads (at least here in OC). I’d actually pay for it, but unfortunately it doesn’t go along my commute route.

I feel you. I'm lucky and work evenings but I spend half of my commute just trying to get out of Point Loma. You know I would be fine if they would program the traffic lights properly. Our city govt doesn't understand how green waves are supposed to work. 😒

Luckily my commute is pretty short and just all city driving but yeah some days I notice it. It'll be like some random Tuesday where it seems like everybody is on the road

That can def be annoying. Driving at night tho >>>
That was my favorite part when I commuted in college. Driving on the freeway at 1 AM when no one is there

Bask in the beauty of living close enough that you don’t need to take a freeway, that’s amazing

Lol ok i take back what I said. Sorry fam, that sounds horrible. I’d take my over an hour on the 405 commute over driving through downtown LA streets. I can’t deal with that level of concentration/awareness necessary. Couldn’t ever see myself living in an urban area for that reason.

Yeah it's definitely pretty intense. Always a car, bus, bike, scooter, or pedestrian around and they might do something completely random at any time. The morning commute is chill but that afternoon/evening rush hour is insanity. I definitely don't blame u for that

It’s because LA traffic system is so s*** in downtown. Why to turn left do I need to make sure no cars are coming and then wait for pedestrians to cross and make sure none just running out.
Does anyone here live near Big Sur/Monterey/Lucia/San Simeon area? Wanted to drive up Highway 1 but Apple Maps says it's closed because rockslides. But news sources (or whatever) say they were reopening most of it last weekend and now I'm not sure.
I would be really disappointed if I drove all the way up there and then I have to make a U-turn because my favorite part is closed off instead of making it to the other side... Like the whole point of driving along that part is that feeling that you made it all the way through and the way it changes how you feel about the environment. I don't know.. they need to restore the vibes. I took this in late December a few years ago when I went.

Is this storm already here? On my way home the gusts kept pushing my car sideways. I had to slow down and drive in the middle lane just to be safe.

Have you heard of Wonderfront Music Festival? I don't think a lot of people have heard of it. It's created by Tony Hawk and happens in Ruocco Park/Seaport Village every November, skater music, halfpipe and all. wonderfrontfestival.com
Surprised you didn't list Re:SET in June. It sounds like music would you enjoy. sandiego.resetconcertseries.com/tickets

I think a friend mentioned it once and I signed up for text alerts for whenever tickets dropped.
I'll be in LA the weekend of Re:SET seeing my boy Millz play. In terms of music, I'm not really big into EDM, but living in Denver I learned that the environments can be dope.
