My fault i didnt see this till now, but nah i dont have direct link

I saw it in a stream where the person had all the info

Im sure you can look up "midjourney Magic cards controversy" iirc, them niggas got legit databases to clock people with and Magic is the card game of Disney or Nintendo they do not f*** around they literally have sent privatized hired military to a dudes house just for leaking a cardbox he got a hold of early before retail date

The way midjourney was found out specifically with Magic was because Magic is one of the few card games that give legit credit in name every time to the artists that made the card artwork, so midjourney has a datalog (which someone hacked into iirc) of artists by name its ripped off and uses, so basically every Magic card artist name is listed in there as well from their mid 90s prototype stage to today lmao and thats one of the things I think that set off this snowball and showing they infact do use direct copyrighted material while monetizing subscriptions 💀

Them keeping a datalog of what theyre directly feeding their machine is straight up stupid ngl

I think we’d be better off turning AI into a tool like Photoshop to help artists rather than trying to fight this battle

It probably literally just scans the internet without them having to do anything special to make it soak up copyrighted material. Think about how many articles probably have mentioned SpongeBob and “animated sponge” lol

    imagine simping for copyright

talk about being a bootlicker lmao

who will think of the big hollywood studios and moderna

    poor disney

oh no what if AI makes a vaccine that saves millions of lives for free and no one profits the horror, how will Bill Gates afford a 10th yacht

copyright is evil theft from the human experience

it's beyond Capitalism, it's shameless rent seeking on the level of Feudalism

    ABOLISH IP/Copyright

    Copyright versus... Microsoft

The "AI" that they're using in chemistry isn't a chat bot. It doesn't scrape Reddit or w/e. It's a machine learning generative text algorithm trained on- chemistry data.

They won't abolish copyright. They'll just make an exception for this s*** lol.

any idea someone has doesn’t come from thin air that’s idiotic

everything always builds off things in the past

there are lots of options. one would be shortening patent lengths and going after people that just use IP law to troll smaller companies, while never using the patents they hold to make anything

making it so companies have to license patents at fair rates

also making it so companies like Apple, John Deere can't make it so all the parts to their devices can only be made by them for hugely overpriced sums, which generates waste from people throwing out perfectly good stuff

make it more of a fair "free" market

basically make it more capitalist instead of feudal like it is now

yeah I 100% own up to my personal favorite option being the anarchist option. abolishment

I've also heard people argue for more of a socialist way of doing things that would pay creative people and companies kinda like a patent/copyright UBI until they make a certain amount of money.. I found a great video on that option a few months back but can't think of the title will share if I find it

This is easy to throw at a big company but what about the other regular creatives who don’t want their art, music, clothing designs or creative fiction profited off of?

  • of course old media is the one flipping lol

As an aspiring artist, good. Regulate the hell out of it. Drawing is hard enough endevor without having your s*** stolen by AI

you'd have a tax that rewards smaller creators for getting attention

this is the prob our economy is not setup for AI taking everyone's job and AI making video, audio & images is cool right now but in 5 years 10 tops it will take jobs from everyone

    programmers, accountants, legit everything

we need to reconstruction the economy so everyone gets part of the gains but that's not happening we headed towards Mad Max and not the fun parts

At this rate you're right a lot of jobs will be replaced soon and the economy isn't ready for it

I think the smart thing to do is to somehow put limits on ai related layoffs, or to go basic income
