every day is the same in this place. some gimmick account makes a moron bait thread. rinse, repeat.
Tell me the good in disregarding lyrics and abandoning listening to the elders and legends that came before us, which is a practice that was embraced by the SoundCloud era? By your response, it seems the damage has been done on you too
I feel Cudi had a better chance of being dope spitter in his early days than he is now, because he wrote a lot of his stuff and went Off Da Dome in freestyles
But I remember in a Joe Rogan podcast, he used to do freestyle a lot of his lyrics around AKNC to MOTM2 days
Then afterwards, he transition to more traditional songwriting with WZRD and onward.
That's why I f*** with Mr Morale, because Kendrick pulled off the more emotional s*** with good amount of bars.
With the recent video breaking down 6:16 and everyone being so impressed by it even though most of the breakdown didn’t need much explaining shows how numb this generations brain has become if they needed a breakdown to understand most of this
But to people that are on a higher plane of intelligence above them like me, it’s all child’s play
6:16 the best song this entire beef but yall slept on it til you needed a youtuber spoon feed it to you lemmie tell yall they not like us fr
Now I liked the songs from the SoundCloud era but look at the generation that grew up on Cole Drake Kendrick Wale etc and look at the generation that grew up on Uzi Carti and Pump and we’ll see a clear gap in intelligence
Hey sorry to say it but that song was wack.

Yeah I’m not even saying artistry and bars are a separate commodity. But you can have both, which is what Kendrick does. Also I think Lancey does a good job in balancing being a great lyricist with being a great new age artistic rapper so not all hope is lost. But there atleast needs to be a balance.
never thought I say this ever but Mainstream rap> underground rap in 2024 the soundcloud influence and quality gets much much worse with new upcoming rappers
rappers like this are now the rule not a funny meme like it was just back in 2019

You don’t love hip hop
The damage done to this generation can be summed up by the poster above me, calling any discussion she can’t understand as yapping. Keep shaking your lil ass to them songs that don’t mean s*** tho

i don’t think it’s the soundcloud generation i think it’s just people will make content about anything and make themselves sound like they’re saying some s*** even if it’s painfully obvious
Drake had some type of a hand lmaooo.
It was clear that a lot of his new music during this time was influenced by SoundCloud s*** in 2017
I mean he jacked X's flow from Look at Me on KMT, which was a big controversial issue.
it wasn’t even X’s flow originally
Blaming Cudi is odd, because he's not as popular/trendsetting as Drake
Or at least, what he used to be
Also his music is deeply personal and not just "vibe" music that niggas would put on.
But...
If you want to go there, blame Travis for being the Anti-Cudi of this situation.
The reason why I say Travis, because although he's extremely influenced by Cudi. He's the opposite of what Cudi about with his personal lyrics in his music.
His music been all about vibes, party, and raging.
Plus Rodeo and Birds were extremely hot during this time and Astroworld was the peak of this era.
yeah cudi has deeply personal lyrics and can rap his ass off
trav is in like my top five favorites of all time but he definitely made it cool to speak nonsense as long as it sounds good with the effects and everything
Lupe Stan’s don’t have a hard time deciphering 6:16 cause we know real depth. These kids know Kendrick and call him the greatest rapper of all time when Lupe can easily destroy any rapper.
super real lol
jay and wayne saying they freestyle everything f***ed the game up cuz all these new kids think punching in their mid bars is the same thing
Also he missed Kendrick hinting at 21 being the mole
Wait in which lyric
Wait in which lyric
A hunnid REDACTEDs that you got on salary, and twenty of 'em want you as a casualty
And one of them is actually, next to you
And two of them is practically tired of your lifestyle, just don't got the audacity to tell you
Love coming into a thread and @op is already banned
